Handball, rugby, basketball, foot-ball, water polo... The booming

season that has just ended unques-tionably makes Montpellier the capital of sports, and the most sports-orient-ed city in France.

From 4 to 9 July, Montpellier will be welcoming the International Uni-

versity Sports Federation (FISU), there-by adding worldwide university sports to its overall sports excellence. With the values of open-mindedness, re-spect and solidarity that we all share, I am sure that this 13th edition will be a great success.

With fairness, respect and a drive to go even further, everyone can

find a fine adventure in sports.

I hope all of you had a great sporting week!

Handball, rugby, basketball, water-po-lo… L’incroyable saison qui vient

juste de se terminer fait, sans aucun doute possible, de Montpellier à la fois la capi-tale du sport en France, et la ville la plus sportive du pays.

Du 4 au 9 juillet 2016, Montpellier a ac-cueilli la Fédération Internationale du

Sport Universitaire (FISU), ajoutant ainsi un événement de sport universitaire de rang mondial à son histoire et excellence sportive déjà plus que conséquente. Avec les valeurs d’ouverture d’esprit, de respect et de solidarité que nous partageons tous, je suis certain que cette treizième édition sera un énorme succès.

Avec justesse, respect et volonté d’aller plus loin encore, nous pouvons tous

vivre une belle aventure grâce au sport et lors de cet événement.

J’espère que vous avez passé une excel-lente semaine des plus sportives !

La ville de Krasnoyarsk ac-

cueillera donc la prochaine

édition du Forum FISU en août

2018, sur le campus de l’Univer-

sité Fédérale de Sibérie pour une

durée de 6 jours.

Un an avant les Universiades

d’hiver de 2019, l’organisa-

tion du Forum servira de répéti-

tion générale pour le comité

d’organisation: les infrastruc-

tures destinées aux Universiades

seront présentées, notamment

le Village où seront logés les ath-

lètes.

Comme à Montpellier, les

thèmes abordés seront liés

au futur du sport universitaire

ainsi qu’aux différents enjeux

rencontrés par la FISU.

Krasnoyarsk est la capitale

du Territoire “Krasnoyarsk”,

située dans le centre de la Rus-

sie, des deux côtés de la rive du

fleuve Yenisei. C’est une belle

ville du nord, avec un climat con-

tinental impliquant des étés très

chauds et des hivers glacés.

La ville a déjà accueilli plu-

sieurs compétitions nation-

ales et internationales, notam-

ment les Universiades nationales

de 1990 et les Universiades na-

tionales d’hiver de 2010.

The 14th FISU Forum will take place in Kras-

noyarsk in August 2018. It will be organised on the campus of the Siberian Federal University and will last six days.

It will be used as a big test event for Krasnayarsk

and the Organizing Com-mittee, a year before the Winter Universiades. The infrastructures of the Uni-versiades like the Village where the athletes will be hosted will therefore be presented.

The main themes of the Forum will remain the

same as the one that were discussed here in Mont-pellier and will be linked to the future of university

sports and the challenges that it faces.

Krasnoyarsk is the cap-ital city of the Krasno-

yarsk Territory, located in the center of Russia, on both banks of the Yeni-sei River. It is a beautiful northern city of continen-tal climate with hot sum-mer and genuine Russian winter.

Krasnoyarsk regularly hosts major national

and international com-petitions: It already has an experience of hosting two national Universiades: All-Union Winter Univer-siade of 1990 and All-Rus-sian Winter Universiades of 2010.

1) Banzi Siyongwana (RSA): “i aM very excit-

ed, the forUM is innovative and frUitfUl. i’M taKing

notes at the MoMent becaUse there is a lot of things that

i gained froM this event. noW i prepare to get bacK hoMe

and tell My stUdents hoW iMportant it is to be part of

sport.”

Je suis vraiment ravi, le forum est innovant

fructueux. Je prends des notes en ce moment

parce que je veux me rappeler de tout ce que j’ai

appris sur cet évènement. Je prépare tout pour

mes étudiants en Afrique du Sud pour leur dire

à quel point c’est important d’oeuvrer pour le

sport.

2) Karolina Zarazka (POL): “it’s My first tiMe at

the fisU forUM. it has been a WonderfUl tiMe be-

caUse i’ve Met a lot of people froM different coUntries.

they have the saMe passion. i Was the Mentor of a groUp

dUring the volUnteering WorKshop. i’M Keen on doing

a lot of volUnteering things, so that Was My favoUrite

sUbject. events are iMpossible WithoUt volUnteers, they

are really needed.”

C’est ma première participation à un Forum

FISU! J’ai vraiment passé une excellente

semaine, parce que j’ai rencontré beaucoup

de nouvelles personnes de pays différents! On

partage tous la même passion! J’ai été le men-

tor d’une groupe pendant les workshops sur les

volontaires, et j’adore faire du volontariat, c’est

mon sujet de prédilection! Les évènements ne

seraient rien sans les volontaires, ils sont vrai-

ment indispensables!

3) Jey-Sng Poon (SIN), National Univer-

sity of Singapore: “the forUM so far has

been very inforMative. i’M froM singapore and We

don’t have as MUch eMphasis on sports as other

coUntries have. so it Was qUite an eye-opener for

Me in terMs of learning aboUt issUes that We face

in sport in general. soMe of the issUes are not

as relevant to Us yet becaUse We don’t have the

extensive exposUre to sport, bUt learning aboUt

these issUes Will help Me to get soMe KnoWledge

on hoW to prevent theM.”

Le forum a été très informatif jusqu’à présent.

Je suis de Singapour et nous n’avons pas au-

tant d’actions dans le sport que certains autres

pays. Ce foru m’a donc réellement ouvert les

yeux sur les enjeux et challenges du monde du

sport. Certaines thématiques ne sont pas forcé-

ment pertinentes pour nous car nous n’avons

pas une exposition importante du sport, mais

découvrir les débats liés à ces thématiques va

me permettre de mieux comprendre ces sujets.

Est-ce la première fois que tu par-ticipes à un Forum FISU? Oui, je

ne m’étais jamais déplacé sur un fo-rum FISU auparavant!

Is it the first time that you partic-ipate in a FISU Forum? Yes! I had

never been to a FISU Forum before!

Et comment se passes cette se-maine à Montpellier? Tout est

génial! Mon séjour à Montpellier se passe très bien depuis le début et restera à jamais gravé dans ma mémoire: les gens que nous ren-contront sont ouverts d’esprit, drôle et intéressant et je pense que c’est vraiment ça qui fait la richesse de ce forum!

How have things been in Mont-pellier sofar? Everything is more

than great, my time here in Mont-pellier has been awesome from the very beginning and will remain in my memory: the people we meet here are open-minded, fun and in-teresting, and I believe this is why this forum is so important.

Pas trop déçu de la défaite de l’Allemagne en demi-finale (2-0

contre la France)? Si, forcément un peu, mais c’est beau que la France soit en finale pour “son” Euro! Et nous avons passé un super mo-ment en regardant le match à côté des volontaires français... Ils sont se rapprochés au moment des hymnes pour chanter la Marseillaise devant nous, c’était très drôle!

Not too disappointed that Ger-many lost in the semi-final (2-0

versus France)? Well, yes of course, but it is good that France got in the final of ‘its’ Euro!And we really had a great time watching the game with the French volunteers... They came to us when the national anthem started to play, very cool!

Plutôt hymne allemand ou français? Français! Vive la Mar-

seillaise!

What national anthem do you prefer between the two? The

French one! Long live la Marseillaise!

Après une matinée passée au Cen-

tre de Recherche Euromov, plate-

forme dédiée à l’étude du mouvement,

et une séance collective de handball au

gymnase de Veyrassi, tous les partici-

pants, étudiants, officiels, bénévoles et

membres du comité d’organisation, se

sont rendus à la Grande Motte pour une

après-midi au soleil.

Le tournoi de beach volley a réuni tout

le monde dans un moment de con-

vivialité et de bonne humeur. Les partici-

pants originaires de tous les pays étaient

mélangés en différentes équipes pour

favoriser les échanges et les rencontres.

Pour finir en beauté, un repas était

prévu dans un restaurant au bord de

la plage, où tout le monde a pu regardé

la demi-finale de l’Euro de football 2016
