Dear HISD Family,

The Human Resources Department for HISD

is working to ensure that all employees in

the district are provided with opportunities

for targeted and relevant support so that

they are able to transform the lives of all

students. Our goal is for the district to

achieve recognition at the state and national level with regard to the way

that we develop our most valuable resource, our people. We hope that

employees will not have to go outside the district to experience quality

professional development because they recognize excellence and rigor

in the professional development menu of options.

The spring 2013 workforce development calendar offers innovative

professional learning opportunities for school leaders, as well as Central

Office staff and managers. This is just the beginning of a comprehensive

approach to developing leadership across the district so that we can

increase our capacity to meet the urgent needs of every child.

Our children deserve the best from each one of us.

Rodney Watson, Ph.D.

Chief Human Resources Officer
