JOIN THE CHAMBER AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
The Ambassador Program plays a most important role in the Foster
City Chamber of Commerce. Ambassadors are the social arm of the
Chamber, making people feel welcome at events, promoting the
Chamber, recruiting new members, delivering new member
materials, and playing a vital public relations role. They also
participate in ribbon cuttings/grand openings and in as many social
functions of the Chamber as possible. Ambassadors usually spend
about 2-4 hours a month helping the Chamber in different ways.
Ambassadors also are listed in the Community Guide, website,
newsletters & more!
THE AMBASSADOR’S ROLE
To serve as official greeters and representatives of the Chamber.
To improve the image of the Chamber and the community.
To promote goodwill and cooperation throughout the community.
To “THINK CHAMBER” and invite participation in Chamber events. Repeated visits and
individual interest will promote greater membership development and retention.
REQUIREMENTS
Assist as a working volunteer in Chamber events specifically designed to promote
improved member relations and involvement (i.e. mixers, membership drive, seminars,
new member coffee, delivering membership plaques, annual meeting, etc.).
Attend Chamber scheduled assignments (happy hours, ribbon cuttings, mixers, etc.)
Solicit 1-2 door prizes per year.
Make courtesy calls or visits to about 5 businesses a month reminding them of upcoming
events. These calls will be to both new and renewing members.
An Ambassador badge will be offered after having attended 3 Chamber functions, i.e.,
mixers, ribbon cuttings, seminars. This badge should be worn at all Chamber functions.
Participate in special Chamber events like the Arts & Wine Festival, Holiday Happening,
etc.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?This is an opportunity to be out and about in the community in a prestigious role. It’s a way to
work for the betterment of the business community, to be involved and to meet new people and
a chance to make contacts which could prove valuable in promoting one’s own business or
service. Interested? Call the Chamber at 573-7600!
