Do you know that trees talk? Well, they do. They talk to each other, and they’ll

talk to you, if you will listen. Trouble is, white people don’t listen. They never

listened to the Indians, and so I don’t suppose they’ll listen to the other voices in

nature. But I have learned a lot from trees, sometimes about the weather,

sometimes about animals, sometimes about the Great Spirit.

Science for me is very close to art.

Scientific discovery is an irrational act.

It is an intuition which turns out to be reality at the end of it –

and I see no difference between a scientist developing a marvelous discovery

and an artist making a painting.

Introduction

The preceding quotes speak volumes about the wisdom that our body’s energy field can

tell us. I believe there are great possibilities in learning about the wisdom of our bodies and I

have learned much this semester in my independent study. It seems to me that Western thought

limits our capacity to tap into our body’s wisdom or our innate intuition. We are taught at a

young age by cultural influences to ignore our inner wisdom and we become focused on

searching outside ourselves for answers. The growth and shift towards holistic-type healthcare

demonstrates to me that we are returning to concepts about the potential wisdom of our bodies.

More and more research is being done, especially in light of the revolutionary discoveries with

quantum physics, and the acceptance of alternative therapies is driving us towards an eventual

changed paradigm, whereby healthcare may be delivered radically different in the future than

currently. Similar to how Walking Buffalo points out that we need to learn to listen to the trees

and with Carlos Rubia’s concept that our inner voice is what really matters- I find it is necessary

for us to return to the wisdom of our bodies. Therefore, it is important for us to explore the

foundations of our body’s biofield energy field, of which has the capacity to give us information

regarding our wellbeing.

The focus of my research this semester was to investigate and understand better how it is

possible to retrieve information from our biofields and to explore a variety of practitioners of

manual modalities that are utilizing biofield information at some capacity. My experience in

Brazil, working at a small Holistic Health Center, demonstrated the possibilities in diagnosing

imbalances from our body through a modality known as Bi-Digital O-Ring Test (BDORT).

I was able to observe how the BDORT was able to diagnose illness, determine appropriate

treatments and food allergies, and applicable dosages. I also attended a learning seminar on

Page 4: Foundations of Biofield Information - Energy Medicine

FOUNDATIONSOFBIOFIELDINFORMATION 4

BDORT offered by the center. The purpose of my Independent Study this semester was to learn

more about how BDORT was able to diagnose utilizing our body’s biofield, by comparing

BDORT with some other manual modalities, reading research articles and books, and

interviewing various practitioners; and finally synthesizing together my findings to formulate

some foundations of our body’s capacity for retrieving biofield information.

One key aspect of the potential for retrieving biofield information is to understand the

theory that disease manifests within our bodies in various stages over time. Quite often

symptoms will appear in the later stages of a particular disease, at which point conventional

biomedicine will perform diagnostic tests and treat the disease. Depending on the stage of the

disease, and to when it has been diagnosed, will in part determine if the disease can be

successfully treated or not. Our body’s biofields have the capacity to report to us imbalances

within our bodies that may be occurring, and as such may be able to detect imbalances in the

early stages of a disease potentially manifesting within our bodies. Furthermore, these

rudimentary principles of reading biofield information can be thus utilized in determining what

foods are most appropriate for our body-type, what medications might be more suitable, or what

type of expensive diagnostic tests are most appropriate for a particular diagnosis. The

possibilities are revolutionary and especially in the context of our current escalating costly

healthcare system with diagnostic tests performed regardless of necessity.

During this semester, I have learned and discovered a great deal about Energy Medicine

concepts and biofield information. Although, along with all that I have learned, I also realize

how much I do not known – this will be the driving force that propels me forward in this area.

My paper is an informal sharing of my discoveries. I will first summarize my visits with various

practitioners and my findings, while identifying key concepts of biofield information in the

Page 5: Foundations of Biofield Information - Energy Medicine

FOUNDATIONSOFBIOFIELDINFORMATION 5

research that confirms my learnings. This approach has been helpful in synthesizing my

discoveries as I have found that there is a great amount of fragmentation in the research and to

practitioner’s modalities. Finally, I will conclude with some possibilities for biofield

information.

Modalities and Practitioners Utilizing Biofield Information

My biggest challenge during the semester was tracking down practitioners that were

utilizing some modality to retrieve biofield information. In part, I felt I was taking on an

investigative-type search, utilizing whatever lead possible that came my way. Although at times,

this task seemed difficult, overall I was able to move forward by gathering little gold nuggets

sprinkled throughout the semester, revealing some great insights and learnings.

It became evident early on, and based on my observations, that concepts of biofield

information were very similar to concepts from Applied Kinesiology’s Manual Muscle Testing

(MMT) and the O-Ring test from BDORT (Bi-digital O-ring Test). This was found from

responses I received from visiting practitioners of manual modalities as well as within the

research. I observed that various types of practitioners were utilizing the MMT and O-Ring

concepts in their practices – of which some were chiropractors, acupuncturists, naturopaths,

homeopaths, nutritionists, auricular therapists, energy medicine practitioners and even medical

doctors within the U.S. and outside.

In fact, just from attending the Restore Event (which in part was sponsored by the Masters of

Holistic Health Studies program), I discovered at least four separate practitioners who were

utilizing the body’s biofield to retrieve information about the physical balance/imbalance. One

of the practitioners was an Auricular Therapist, who I did a site-visit at a later date; two of the

practitioners I identified were energy medicine healers; the fourth practitioner was a naturopath

Page 6: Foundations of Biofield Information - Energy Medicine

FOUNDATIONSOFBIOFIELDINFORMATION 6

who utilized a machine based on EAV (electro-acupuncture according to Dr. Voll – a German

Doctor who created the technology) and who I had done site-visit last semester; essentially all of

them working to retrieve biofield information on imbalance/balance of the body.

Just the fact that there had been at least four practitioners present at a holistic health event

demonstrated to me that there is a definite interest in the concept of retrieving information from

the body’s biofield. Even more amazing to me was when another MAHS colleague shared in

her presentation this semester that a nutritionist practitioner had utilized Applied Kinesiology

concepts (MMT) to determine what foods were appropriate for her and to her surprise with great

accuracy. This concept was further demonstrated by a nurse clinician that I interviewed this

semester who explained to me how she utilized the O-Ring concept to determine what foods

were appropriate for her intake. I have also observed how both the O-Ring test and MMT are

able to be utilized to determine food allergies. Even one of my instructors demonstrated how

one can use a pendulum above a cross to utilize the energy biofield of our body to answer a

question – our mind may rationalize and block the truth, but it is our body that will disclose the

unconscious truth. Therefore, I ask the question that is it not plausible to retrieve information

from our energy biofield?

Chiropractor’s use of Manual Modalities. One of the first practitioners I interviewed

was Dr. Sheila Fahey, a chiropractor specializing in kinesiology, nutrition and craniosacral. I

was fortunate to spend over one hour with her as we compared concepts from MMT and the O-

Ring Test. Dr. Fahey had attended various seminars about the Applied Kinesiology MMT

concept and after I demonstrated the concepts from BDORT, we both determined that there were

many similarities. The biofield points to retrieve information regarding organ imbalance/balance

where the same meridian points know as the “alarm points” (or 12 main meridians) or otherwise

Page 7: Foundations of Biofield Information - Energy Medicine

FOUNDATIONSOFBIOFIELDINFORMATION 7

called Mu and Shu points in Chinese medicine – a concept that was confirmed in many of my

research sources (Barth, n.d.; Iwasa, Jojima, de Barros, Gurfinkel, & Suko, 2006; Larder, 2009;

Losco, 1991; Omura, 1987; Shinnick, 1996). These similar meridian “alarm points” are the

diagnostic locations where the MMT or O-Ring Test are utilized as a tool to determine organ

balance or imbalance (Rubik, 1997, p. 70) as well as to diagnose pathologies (Barth, n.d.;

Gerber, 2001; Losco, 1991; Omura, 1987; Shinnick, 1996). In Traditional Chinese Medicine,

each meridian path matches up to an organ within our body – from the surface extended to a

particular internal organ (Omura, 1987, p 54; Shinnick, 1996, p. 196).

Although Dr. Fahey is not diagnosing pathologies with MMT, she is utilizing it in her

practice to assist with spinal adjustments, as well as to determine appropriate foods or

supplements for her patients. In the case of spinal adjustments, the MMT is an excellent tool to

confirm if a particular adjustment along the spinal effectively is in balance after the adjustment is

made. This concept is based on the “resonant frequencies of the vertebrae” (Wieder, 2006, p. 66)

and utilizing the MMT to check for balances/imbalances, thereby allowing for additional

adjustments if needed. As a patient of Dr. Fahey, she has demonstrated this over and over the

MMT tool in making spinal adjustments and confirming balance/imbalance to additional

adjustments that are necessary to my spine. In our initial meeting Dr. Fahey also demonstrated

with various vials containing food properties and actual bottles of supplements that the MMT

could be utilized as a tool to determine if certain foods were appropriate for individuals. This is

similar to BDORT. This concept is based on resonance, whereby all matter has vibrational

frequency and can be matched up to our own body’s resonance to determine if foods or

supplements are acceptable within our bodies or not (Kapke, 2005; Wieder, 2006).

Page 8: Foundations of Biofield Information - Energy Medicine

FOUNDATIONSOFBIOFIELDINFORMATION 8

In addition to the Chinese Medicine meridian points, Dr. Fahey and I conferred about the

pre-testing to determine if sufficient energy exists, which for both MMT and BDORT the thymus

organ, or otherwise referred as the Kidney-27 point (massive acupuncture point), is necessary to

be in balance to perform either tests. This is also confirmed in the research (Barth, n.d.; Losco,

1991, p. 56) as to the importance of the thymus organ in the BDORT for diagnostic purposes.

Similar to with BDORT, Dr. Fahey stated that an individual with insufficient energy would need

to massage the K-27 point, thymus region, to stimulate the energy to be able to then do the

diagnostic MMT. Without sufficient energy in the patient, the MMT may produce an incorrect

diagnosis, similarly with BDORT as well.

My meeting with Dr. Fahey was very informative and helped me greatly with confirming

and understanding concepts I had observed with BDORT. Dr. Fahey told me that from her

experience and learnings from various seminars relating to MMT, there are many uses of

terminology and modalities – of which creates a fragmented area to research. One example is

the Chinese Medicine “alarm points” have been referred to as “body scan points”, “Contact

Reflex Analysis”, or “Quantum Reflex Analysis” (created by Dr. Robert Marshall), similar to

Applied Kinesiology points as discovered by George Goodheart, IACK. I found it interesting

that Dr. Fahey estimated that maybe as much as 10% of chiropractor practitioners were utilizing

some MMT format. When she had attended chiropractor school she told me the school did not

accept MMT concepts as valid at that point in time. However, currently such chiropractor

schools offer many continuing educational seminars based on MMT concepts.

Besides my learning’s from Dr. Fahey, I had met with a nurse practitioner who had also

given me a name of a chiropractor, of whom she had worked with in the past and had utilized an

O-Ring type test in a similar manner that Dr. Fahey had. I did not at this point contact another

Page 9: Foundations of Biofield Information - Energy Medicine

chiropractor, but have notated as a reference for the future. As evident from my interview with a

chiropractor and in the research, the concept of retrieving information from the body’s biofield

appears to be a viable tool to utilize either BDORT or MMT. I sense that these tools will

continue to grow as acceptance through education and once more research is done in this area.

Acupuncture’s use of Manual Modalities. Practitioners of acupuncture are also

utilizing the body’s biofield to retrieve information regarding balance/ imbalance of the body.

One specialty of acupuncture know as Auricular medicine, is able to locate accurately the

Chinese meridians on the ear that are linked to internal organs (Losco, 1991) and through these

biofields, combined with changes in the pulse, are able to determine information about the

balance/imbalance of the body. In effect, these meridian points that connect to internal organs

act like neurotransmitters (Losco, 1991, p.54) or possibly a muscle-type response that “can

transduce this subliminal information into conscious level information” (Tiller, 1997, p.152).

Auricular Medicine utilizes the change in pulse combined with the energy from the meridian

points on the ear to determine what internal organ of the body has an imbalance, a technique

called manual VAS or Vascular Autonomic System (King, n.d.; Rubic, 2002; Tiller, 1997). I

was able to observe how this works directly from an Auricular Therapist who had participated at

the Restore event this semester and I later met with him to discuss some biofield principles.

Utilizing the VAS technique, Warren King, L.Ac., scanned quickly over a list of foods and he

was able to determine which ones were generally beneficial for my body and those that I should

avoid completely altogether.

Mr. King demonstrated to me how he was able to determine essentially my food allergies

through Auricular Medicine in a couple of different manners. The first manner was having me

hold the actual food product, which thus contained the resonance biofield properties to be tested

Page 10: Foundations of Biofield Information - Energy Medicine

FOUNDATIONSOFBIOFIELDINFORMATION 10

through the VAS technique to determine if a particular food was appropriate for my body or not.

This supports the resonance principle already mentioned earlier that is applied in both BDORT

and in MMT (Barth, n.d.; Kapke, 2005; Losco, 1991; Omura, 1986; Shinnick, 1996; Wieder,

2006). The other manner that he utilized the VAS technique was simply stating verbally the

food product or just through conscious thought, while expressing the food as a word without

stating it out loud. I discussed this concept with Mr. King and asked him how he believed it was

possible to retrieve biofield information without actually utilizing the resonance properties of

food in a vial, but from actual conscious thought, verbally stating the food word or consciously

doing so without stating our loud. I was somewhat puzzled from my experience in Brazil, when

diagnosing a food allergy from the BDORT using the Portuguese word that I may not even know

the correct translation of, I was curious to how the O-Ring could be accurate. According to Mr.

King, this concept is similar to Masaru Emoto’s research with thoughts directed or placed upon

water vials. In Masaru Emoto’s research he discovered the power of words and that conscious

thought and words contain vibrational energy (Atwater, 2008; Emoto, 2006; “Water,” 2006) and

just as the food vials have resonance properties so do conscious thoughts as well as spoken

words.

Therefore, it was very fascinating to me to observe the resonance concept, from both

physical resonances present in the vial or through conscious thoughts, that was applicable to the

modality of Auricular Medicine. I have also observed these concepts can be utilized with either

MMT and BDORT modalities. In fact, Mr. King also shared with me that during his

acupuncture studies he had learned about Dr. Omura’s BDORT test and demonstrated how he

also used the O-Ring test in a similar manner in his practice, even though he predominately

utilizes Auricular Therapy. In my discussion with Mr. King about other concepts I learned from

Page 11: Foundations of Biofield Information - Energy Medicine

FOUNDATIONSOFBIOFIELDINFORMATION 11

BDORT, he was amazed to learn that the BDORT can also diagnose disease through a sort of

optical resonance in the form of a photo copy of the disease rather than microscopic slide

containing the resonance of the disease (Barth, n.d.). Although this concept, I believe is

somewhat related to the concept that words have resonance and in one study done by Dr. Omura

(2007), he determined that ”it is possible to detect any type of malignancy from the voice”

(Omura, 2007, p. 235). I would like to find more research to better understand the possibility of

optical resonance that may exist. It seems so unbelievable, however, I now have a better

understanding on how the resonance applies to biofield information.

Energy Medicine Practitioners use of Manual Modalities. There are many energy

medicine practitioners that in some manner are working with healing therapies for the body’s

biofield, as well as retrieving information from the biofield. The various types of modalities of

energy medicine practitioners is numerous and very fragmented as well as within the research.

However, I will touch on a few practitioners in this field and the modalities they focus on. I

observed several energy practitioners at the Restore event and I talked with one of them utilizing

Eden Energy Medicine, which works with the body’s energy biofield to promote wellness. This

modality applies muscle-testing concepts from Applied Kinesiology to determine the flow of

energy through the meridian system of the body – a technique called Energy Testing (Eden &

Feinstein, 2008). I visited briefly with the Eden Energy Medicine practitioner and she explained

how the Energy testing from this modality could test for food allergies, strengthen the immune

system, and relieve stress and anxiety to name a few. Eden Energy Medicine appears very

similar to MMT and BDORT, however the modality purports not to diagnose or cure illnesses.

Another Energy Medicine practitioner at the Restore event that was able to retrieve

information from the biofield was a modality called Healing Crucible. This modality utilizes a

Page 12: Foundations of Biofield Information - Energy Medicine

FOUNDATIONSOFBIOFIELDINFORMATION 12

energy healing technique called “Cleansing Flow” and is able to determine balance/imbalance

within the body. I did not interview the practitioner for this modality, however a MAHS

colleague had referred mentioned that this practitioner had determined she did not have a spleen

with out her disclosing this information prior. I found this interesting and confirmed my research

discoveries that there are many different types of practitioners with their own modalities to

retrieve information from the biofield, and similarly to what I found with the Eden Energy

Medicine.

Most interesting to me was the energy medicine practitioners who utilized the concept of

conscious thought and the body’s biofield to retrieve information. I met with Susan Arnold, who

is an Integrative Health Nurse Clinician at the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing.

She demonstrated to me a O-Ring test that she was able to utilize on herself to determine if a

particular food was good for her body or not. She had observed and learned the O-Ring test

from both a Naturopath doctor and chiropractor that she had previously worked with. While

putting a particular food item on her lap, performing the O-Ring test she asked the question “Is

this sugar good for my body and higher power? The O-Ring test would determine a positive or

negative response, indicating if the sugar was appropriate for her body. The O-Ring test she

performed was very similar to the BDORT and with regards to the positive or negative response,

which was also found in the research (Barth, n.d.; Losco, 1991;Omura, 1986; Shinnick, 1996;

“Bi-digital part one,” n.d.).

I further critiqued the conscious though concept with Ms. Arnold and she shared with me

that in her opinion, when the question is too complex the O-Ring test is probably not accurate.

Even Masaru Emoto determined that it was important to have an understanding of the word so as

a conscious thought would actually have an impact, however the word itself, for example

Page 13: Foundations of Biofield Information - Energy Medicine

FOUNDATIONSOFBIOFIELDINFORMATION 13

gratitude can influence the energy biofield (“Water,” 2006, p. 9). Therefore, in my opinion, it

appears as if the accurate response in part depends on the complexity of the question or

determination that one is retrieving from the O-Ring test. This is somewhat confirmed with

much of the research suggesting that a practitioner, in at least the example of BDORT or MMT,

needs to be sufficiently knowledgeable about the context to therefore perform the test (Barth,

n.d.; Cuthbert & Goodheart; 2007; Losco, 1991; Shinnick, 1996).

Another energy practitioner, referred to me by Ms. Arnold, also emphasized the need for

a practitioner to be grounded themselves and having good intention, while being neutral – not

trying to control the outcome. As such, I would anticipate that a practitioner that was operating

without a knowledge base of health issues would not intuitively diagnose with confidence, and

therefore produce a false MMT or O-Ring test. Janet Hovde is a Yuen Method practitioner, as

well as an Occupational Therapist and Healing Touch Practitioner. Her training with the Yuen

Method utilizes Chinese Energetic Medicine, similarly based on Applied Kinesiology concepts,

to determine food allergies, supplements and doses. The Yuen Method can use either the O-

Ring test or MMT techniques to determine balance/imbalance through conscious thought

(expressed verbally or not) in the form of a technique called a Mental Scan. Similar to how Ms.

Arnold asked her body a question, the Yuen Method also asks the body questions in

positive/negative related phrases with a positive/negative response from the MMT or BDORT

technique. For example when I state: My name is Joanne (positive response) or Fred (negative

response); I am a woman/man; peace/war. Essentially the correct response will be demonstrated

by the MMT or BDORT technique, demonstrating truth as a positive response as well as with

positive thought. These are just a few examples of many energy medicine practitioners utilizing

the body’s biofields to retrieve information from our bodies.

Page 14: Foundations of Biofield Information - Energy Medicine

FOUNDATIONSOFBIOFIELDINFORMATION 14

Naturopaths, Homeopaths, Nutritionists & MD’s use of Manual Modalities. Many

other practitioners of various modalities are possibly utilizing the biofield to retrieve information

and diagnose. I already had discovered two separate Naturopaths last semester who were

utilizing a diagnostic machine, which was tapping into the energy from the meridian pathways to

determine internal organ balance/imbalance. Similarly, Dr. Kim Lane, a Homeopathic Doctor,

demonstrated that energetic principles of her modality in addition to a simple MMT technique

with crystals. I hope to some day visit with her about MMT concepts to further deepen my

research efforts.

Although I was unable to find a practicing medical doctor locally that is familiar with

MMT or BDORT concepts, I was greatly encouraged by Dr. Bill Manahan’s response to me – “I

believe that energy medicine (such as homeopathy, AK, EFT, EMDR, healing touch, Qigong,

etc.) are going to become one of the most powerful tools we have to help people heal. So I

would strongly encourage you to continue exploring BDORT.” There are medical doctors doing

research on BDORT concepts, one of which is Dr. Yoshiaki Omura, the founder of BDORT.

Dr. Omura is also the editor-in-chief of Acupuncture & Electro-therapeutics Research, the

International Journal (Losco, 1991, p. 54) and is also a Fellow of the International College of

Acupuncture and Electro-Therapeutics, where most of his research is published. He has also

written a book on BDORT titled The Practice of the Bi-Digital O-Ring Test that is available in

Japanese or Spanish. Many doctors outside the U.S. are utilizing the BDORT, of which is

actually taught at medical schools in Japan, Finland, Venezuela, Yugoslavia, and the Ukraine

(“Bi-Digital,” n.d.; Losco, 1991; Shinnick, 1996). Further research is necessary to determine the

actually scope of application of BDORT or MMT concepts that are utilized outside the U.S.

Page 15: Foundations of Biofield Information - Energy Medicine

Biofield Information Foundations – Manual Modalities MMT and BDORT

As evident from my site-visits with various practitioners and from research it is possible

to utilize manual modalities that retrieve biofield information from the body. Continued research

in this area will help explain how biofield information can be retrieved from our bodies.

Educational efforts will assist in making these type of manual modalities more acceptable and

available to the public. The prior section briefly touched on MMT and BDORT concepts and in

this section we will explore more of the research that supports these type of modalities.

Bioelectromagnetic field – Pathway to Indication of Disease. According to the

National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, subtle biofields of the body that

can be utilized to measure to diagnose disease or treatments are defined as veritable energy

fields, contrary to putative energy fields which are un-measurable such as, qi in traditional

Chinese medicine, prana in Indian Ayurveda medicine, and ki for Japanese medicine (NCCAM,

2007, p. 1-2). In an attempt to create some uniformity in the fragmented field of Energy

Medicine, researchers have developed definitions for the bioelectromagnetic field: “An

electromagnetic field generated by a living system that propagates in free space and is capable of

transferring energy and information from one system to another” (Hintz, Yount, Kadar,

Schwartz, Hammerschlag, & Lin, 2003, p. 16). Whereby, bioinformation is defined: “An

entropy-reducing signal generated by a biological system” and entropy: “In thermodynamics,

information theory, a measure of the disorderedness of a system. The higher the entropy, the

more disordered it is” (Hintz et al., 2003, p.16).

My understanding of these definitions is that it is the bioelectromagnetic field that has the

capacity to provide information, of which the balance or imbalance is determined by the entropy

Page 16: Foundations of Biofield Information - Energy Medicine

FOUNDATIONSOFBIOFIELDINFORMATION 16

signal. Furthermore, as demonstrated by Gerber in his book Vibrational Medicine: the handbook

of subtle-energy therapies:

We have already established already established that the meridians are carriers of

etherically-based biological information. Because changes in the etheric body

precede the onset of physical disease, electro-acupuncture technologies may allow

us to actually measure subtle-energy imbalances which are precursors to illness. In

addition, these same technologies can reveal illness in the physical body which may

already be present but which is still too subtle to be measured by conventional

laboratory tests. (Gerber, 2001, p. 205).

Although in Gerber’s example he is referring to utilizing a machine to retrieve information

from the meridians, it is also possible to do so with manual modalities of accessing

information from the meridian pathways to detect imbalance before it manifests into

disease (Barth, n.d.; Hunt, 1996; Iwasa et al., 2006;; Larder, 2009; Losco, 1991; Omura,

1987; Rubik, 2002; Rein, 2004; Shinnick, 1996).

Resonance theory and Manual Modalities. Vibrational frequency known as

resonance is found in cells, organs, bone, tissue, fluid or from interactive waves of material

objects, of which the interaction can be without touching (Hunt, 1996; Kapse, 2005;

Oschman, 2000; Wieder, 2006). Also known as the Schumann resonance or otherwise a

standing wave, harmonic resonance, whereby the vibration of similar resonances will

respond accordingly (Hunt, 1996; Kapse, 2005; Oschman, 2000). Therefore, vibrations

that are the same resonance will respond to each other. Previously introduced was the

concept of utilizing vials of food that contain resonance properties and when utilizing the

MMT or BDORT, the body’s can respond through the biofields to determine if a particular

Page 17: Foundations of Biofield Information - Energy Medicine

FOUNDATIONSOFBIOFIELDINFORMATION 17

food is good for the resonance of the body. Similarly, by accessing the meridian pathway

through MMT or BDORT, one can confirm or verify a balance/imbalance of an internal

organ. If an imbalance is present for a meridian pathway, through the MMT and BDORT

technique one can also determine the particular disease by matching up the resonance of

the disease with the organs meridian (Barth, n.d.; Kapke, 2005; Losco, 1991; Omura, 1986;

Shinnick, 1996; Wieder, 2006).

Even more amazing is the possibility that conscious thought and words contain

resonance as well as this paper has previously touched upon (Atwater, 2008; Emoto, 2006;

Omura, 2007; Rein, 2004; “Water,” 2006). Certainly quantum physics has taught us that,

“The information content of each quantum domain would correspond to the content of the

thought or intention” (Rein, 2004. P. 65). Resonance theory is very important to explaining

how manual modalities can possibly determine illness before it manifests to a stage more

difficult to treat. As research in this area unfolds, the growth in practitioners utilizing

manual modalities will explode as well.

Muscle Testing response from MMT and BDORT technique. The response

from the MMT and BDORT technique is quite often referred to as a muscle-test. However,

the MMT and O-ring are not muscle tests, rather a “useful evaluation tool for the

assessment of the musculoskeletal and nervous system” (Cuthbert & Goodheart, 2007, p.1).

Thereby the response is utilizing the control of the muscle combined with the nervous

system (Rein, 2004; Rubik, 2002; Wieder, 2006). The MMT from kinesiology is eliciting a

response from the body and the body’s response is without subconscious thought

controlling the outcome (Cuthbert & Goodheart, 2007; Larder, 2009). In researching

principles of MMT, Goodheart had identified weaker muscle groups that corresponded

Page 18: Foundations of Biofield Information - Energy Medicine

FOUNDATIONSOFBIOFIELDINFORMATION 18

with internal organ imbalance (Tiller, 1997, p. 130). In addition, a documentary showed a

Japanese medical doctor performing a research test to explain how the muscle tension from

the postitive or negative response in the BDORT confirms and corresponds to a balance or

imbalance of an internal organ linked by the meridian pathway (“Bi-Digital Part Two,”

n.d.). Therefore, it does seem conceivable the technique to utilize the muscle tension in

both MMT and BDORT can be utilized as a tool to determine an balance/imbalance of the

body’s organs and thus provide information regarding to the body’s wellbeing.

Summary of Possibilities for Biofield Information Manual Modalities

Retrieving biofield information is a great possibility in today’s practice of holistic

health. Chiropractors are utilizing MMT and principles of spinal resonance in their

practices (Wieder, 2006). Medical doctors are researching the possibilities of utilizing

BDORT to determine prenatal diagnosis (Dunjic, Stanisic, Dunjic, Stanisic, Dunjic, &

Sulovic, 2008) and in selecting drug intake for a particular disease (Dunjic et al., 2008). In

addition, in some cancer research the findings demonstrate that “Among those cancer

cases, a clinical cancer was detected 10 years past from the suspicion of clinical or pre-

clinical cancer” (Shimotsuura, 2008). According to Beverly Rubik, “bioelectromagnetic

medicine is in its infancy, suffering from a serious lack of funding as well as a lack of

knowledge and understanding on the part of the medical community” (1997, p. 70).

Through more research discoveries and education this may change and create great

possibilities.

As demonstrated from my research and practitioner visits, various practitioners are

utilizing foundations of biofield information in numerous types of modalities to be able to

retrieve information from the body as to balance or imbalance of organs, to determine food

allergies and supplements, as well as dosages. Most commonly found in the research and

practicing modalities are the MMT and BDORT techniques. As disease manifests in our bodies

throughout time, the importance of detecting such imbalances within our bodies in advance by

utilizing foundations of biofield information, through MMT or BDORT, is revolutionary and

necessary to some day blend with the best of biomedicine.
