Please give generously for those in need. Sometimes the hour and the person meet. Sometimes, when a task or mis- sion is set upon our shoulders, we know we must meet our responsibilities and we are ready. These are heady and invig- orating times. The first reading and the Gospel proclamation to- day are intimate glimpses of a commencement, an inauguration of a challenging future. In both readings, a sense of gravity pre- vails. The first reading is from the mysterious Servant Songs from the book of Isaiah. The person is stead- fast and brave. His courage and bravery are not located in his stout heart, but in God. We are remind- ed, “The Lord GOD opens my ear that I may hear” (Isaiah 50:4), so the servant understands the mis- sion. The second collection for this week will be for St.

Vincent de Paul. Please give generously for those in

need.

Sometimes the hour

and the person

meet. Sometimes,

when a task or mis-

sion is set upon our

shoulders, we know

we must meet our

responsibilities and

we are ready. These

are heady and invig-

orating times. The first reading

and the Gospel proclamation to-

day are intimate glimpses of a

commencement, an inauguration

of a challenging future. In both

teenager. Children must always be

rooms during Mass or at other times.

A series of 10 sessions for adults

preparing for the Sacrament of Con-

firmation will begin on Sunday,

September 20, from 10:45 AM un-

til 12 noon. It is open to all adults

interested in an update of our Catho-

lic Faith. Call Sister Lucia at the par-

ish office to register. 79th Annual Celebration of

Solvang Danish Days

Friday, September 18, to Sunday,

September 20. Don’t miss this year’s

Solvang Danish Days! The annual

celebration offers activities for all

ages, ranging from fan-favorite food

to Old World artisanal crafts market-

place and a contemporary Solvang

In honor of our new “Saint-

Junipero Serra’s Canonization” in

Washington D.C., our Adult Faith

Program-“Eagle’s Wings”- will host

a Pizza Party on Wednesday night,

and watch this special event on Sep-

tember 23, at 6:00 PM, in the parish

hall. Please RSVP with Sr. Lucia at

the parish office.

Our Adult Faith Formation pro-

gram meets every Wednesday, at

7:00 PM, for Bible studies and faith

sharing. All are welcomed!

On Sunday, September 20, we will

have Confirmation Orientation. We

will begin with the Youth Mass, and

then directly go to the parish hall for
