Jarvis Innovation, Excellence, Perfection
2
Introduction The Jarvis name has been synonymous with the building of quality homes since 1905. Founded in Hertfordshire by Ernest Charles Jarvis, the company has remained a family run concern and today the widely recognised description 'Jarvis Built' stands as a testament to the company's reputation for excellence in craftsmanship and attention to detail. With each project we seek to enhance the built environment by constructing properties which complement their surroundings, maintaining the highest levels of workmanship.
By selecting Jarvis we can offer a truly one-stop-shop from development, construction expertise to M&E , environmental services and joinery products . All will be provided from our offerings in-house. This all round ability is complemented by a highly skilled direct labour force of circa 150 technical and site based staff
We also expertly combine the benefits of the latest construction technologies with an array of traditional processes and high quality building materials. We believe that Jarvis brand values, reputation and quality of finish as a multi-faceted construction group will add value to the development opportunity this project represents.

The Manor House, Wymondley
Value: £1m
Set in 56 acres of woodland and formal gardens this impressive Queen Anne property had a dated arrangement with a grand staircase and staff staircase at either end with long narrow internal corridors bisecting it.
The client’s wish was to remodel the entire house and in doing so bring together the isolated cellular spaces providing the family with a contemporary modern integrated home.
Opening up the entire ground floor created visually stunning reception and family spaces, and a new frameless glass extension allows for spectacular views over the infinity pool and across the estate beyond. The new ancillary extension housing storage and utility, grafts seamlessly to the existing property. A courtyard created by the addition of the new extension acts as the ideal outdoor party space.

Oakfield Road, Harpenden
Value: £3.5m
This state of the art contemporary house, located in one of Harpenden’s most sought after areas, offers soaring ceilings and a timeless simplicity that works perfectly for modern family living.
One of the main attractions of the building was the great use of smooth and polished surfaces, long clean lines and a remarkable sense of volume throughout, this property promotes a “stylish uncluttered look”.
As acknowledged by Strutt & Parker “Designed in conjunction with the owner and constructed by renowned local builder, Jarvis, this property is a true masterpiece in its design. It is also a testament to how a ‘landmark’ house such as this can be constructed by sourcing the majority of materials locally”.

Oakwood Drive, Harpenden
Value: £1m
Jarvis obtained planning permission for these two very attractive executive detached dwellings which were built off-plan for private clients in the highly sought after West Common estate in Harpenden. The houses, which have a total area of 5,300 ft2, comprise four bedrooms with three en suite bathrooms, and have hardwood staircases. Highly efficient underfloor gas-fired wet heating systems were designed and installed by Jarvis M&E Services in both properties, with radiators on the first floors. A range of innovative electrical devices were also designed and installed by them, including automatic doors and automated lighting to the double garages
The porous block paving driveway is SUDS-friendly compliant as it was vital that we paid special attention to the existing area to avoid damaging the 120-year old black poplar tree in the front garden. Close cooperation with the prospective purchasers was also important to ensure that we incorporated all their specific requirements into the properties.

Paddock View, Radlett
Value: £2m
Birkdale and Mentmore are two bespoke residences that were designed to provide the character and indi-viduality of a traditional style property complemented by 21st century lifestyle technology. The properties have been built to the highest standards using traditional masonry construction on trench-fill foundations, together with pre-cast concrete ground floors incorporating underfloor heating. Energy saving automated lighting controls were fitted and the dwellings were wired for audio video systems.
They have five/six bedrooms with en-suite facilities and individually designed kitchens. The houses have a high level of finishes including natural stone flooring, wall facings to the master en-suite, and solid oak stairs, front entrance doors and screens. Automated gates were installed together with wiring for CCTV. Mentmore, the property featured above equated to approximately 5,000 ft².
