GETTING IT RIGHT…

The heavy construction industry relies on the

production of quality aggregates for its success.

TOMLINSON quarries produce the critical foundation

for roadway infrastructure, buildings and other

structures. With careful consideration of physical,

chemical, mechanical and mineralogical properties,

we ensure the right composition for strength and

durability in all concrete and asphalt applications.

... FROM THE GROUND UP

Our diverse mining sources give us a unique

competitive advantage.

Ontario Trap Rock is a specialty aggregate quarry

on a 1,000 acre site on the shores of Lake Huron.

The aggregate deposit known as “Diabase” or

“trap rock” is a very hard durable material and

valuable in a variety of forms; it is commonly used

in rail ballast, rock wool insulation, high quality

asphalt, concrete and industrial mineral applications.

Our state-of-the-art crushing equipment allows us

to produce a high quality cubical material, which

we ship throughout Canada and the United States.

Since the ship first loaded in 1995, our reputation

for exceptional quality product has steadily grown.

... FROM THE GROUND UP

THE PERFECT MIX

ROADS. RESOURCES. REPUTATION.

TOMLINSON is a leader in the road building industry.

Using premium aggregates from our own quarries is

a business advantage enjoyed by our customers and

respected by our peers.

Our skilled people, provincially certified material-

testing laboratories, quality control procedures and

efficient asphalt and concrete plants – combined with

decades of experience – have earned us a reputation

for continually improving. From parking lots

to high-volume highways, TOMLINSON uses

self-sourced aggregates to produce more than

50 different asphalt mixes.

Many developments require the ability to produce

construction materials in hard to reach or high volume

applications. Our resources include high capacity

portable crushing, hot mix asphalt production and

wet or dry batch ready-mix productions. The Heavy

Civil and Structures Division also uses a portable

asphalt plant and ready-mix concrete plant to provide

custom solutions in diverse locations.

SOLID RESULTS A commitment to environmental awareness and

sustainability is sweeping the construction industry,

and TOMLINSON Ready Mix has responded with

concrete mixes that conform to “green” building

practices. Our internal quality control procedures

are ISO 9001 Certified, while our Stittsville and

Alfred Plants are now Eco-Certified by the Ready

Mixed Concrete Association of Ontario (RMCAO).

TOMLINSON Ready Mix serves all of Eastern Ontario

with our fixed plants and is expanding further with

our portable plant. Our vision is to be the leading

supplier of ready-mix concrete, creating value for

our customers, our employees and the communities

where we work.

TOMORROWABOUT

ORGANIC MATERIALS RECOVERY

Lystek’s Organic Materials Recovery Centre in

Dundalk, Ontario, is the first development of its

kind in North America. This state-of-the-art facility

processes biosolids and other non-hazardous,

organic feedstock into a CFIA registered,

pathogen-free, liquid fertilizer. TOMLINSON is

using this environmentally friendly business line

to expand into the solid waste management

industry across North America.

Lystek’s award-winning process takes biosolids and

other organic fractions from waste-water treatment

plants and converts them into a beneficial fertilizer

product for land application. This patented system

will also reduce the overall volume of output and

create bio-gas for green energy. By diverting materials

from landfills, Lystek offers generators a cost

effective, responsible and sustainable solution over

the long term. There are over 17,000 waste-water

treatment plants across North America, all of which

are candidates for this technology. In fact, the market

for Lystek’s solutions is virtually unlimited.
