Fourth Grade Fridge Facts September 4, 2014 This week our class learned and practiced reading workshop! Next week we will read Chris Van Allsburg books, draw conclusions, and support or thinking with evidence from the text! Book Log: Your child needs to read at least 30 minutes every day at home! They must record the book title and the number of minutes for each day. On Fridays I check to see if they did this homework. Topic 1: Our class has been exploring multiplication! Next week we will explore the relationship between multiplication and division. If your child need more help they can take their notes home to study and watch the math videos on the pearsonsuccess.net website. Your child can also practice math on Xtra Math and IXL. Password sheets and directions have gone home! Vocabulary words: disgrace, dismay, uneasy, nonfiction, nonsense Affixes: non- : not dis- : not/opposite of un- : not/opposite Spelling and Vocabulary test on Friday-your student must know the spelling and the meaning of these words. Next week our class will begin to write narratives by finding inspiration from real life! Next week your child will study map skills. They will have a booklet to help them learn and then review their skills! Kaliyah is the student of the week because she is kind, helpful, participates in class, and has turned all homework in on time!
