A note from the Administrator

P. Mike

Una nota del Administrador

Dear friends,

Those approaching our church last Wednesday were greeted by a locked door and the notice on the right…

If you feel like someone has just punched you in the stomach, so do I!

Bishop Barnes broke the news to us priests last Tuesday and was visibly upset. He and his advisors have been suf-fering and praying over this decision for some time. It is now our duty as Catholics to respect, support and cooper-ate.

Our parish is more fortunate than many: we can at least gather together for prayer by internet. (Find us on smmchi-no.org). In addition, the two main Sunday Masses will be recorded so you can go to them at any time.

The parish office will be closed, and no parish gatherings of more than 10 persons may take place here. The parish phone, however, will be open during all normal office hours and you will have the opportunity to speak with a real human being.

This difficult time will be our chance to learn a different way to pray and be church. We will be able to achieve spiritu-al communion with God and each other through the Holy Spirit. And our fasting from the physical communion in the consecrated body of Christ will make us that much more grateful when our hunger can finally be satisfied.

If you are able to gather your family together to pray at our live-stream Masses and prayer services, you may discov-er the truth of what the last 3 Popes have affirmed: a Christian family gathered in love is a true domestic church.

Peace, All Good! Fr. Mike

REBUILD, REFRESH, RENEW UDATES:

ALREADY DONE: Statue of Our Lady of Fatima has been removed and a new one has been ordered. IN PROCESS RIGHT NOW : Architect is working on detailed drawings for Our La-dy of Fatima's new place and prayer areas inside the church. NEXT ON THE LIST: The restrooms in front of the school and new school office. Projects of this size feel like they take forever, and are sooo ex-pensive… but worth it, since we aim to ensure a vibrant Catho-lic presence here for decades to come.

May God give you grace and protection!

Our bishop directs that all Catholic churches remain closed at least until April 2.

This will be our time to abstain from our beloved Mass and

Sacraments … and instead worship God in our homes, in spirit and in truth. We entreat your prayers for our state and for the

whole world.

Hello St. Margaret’s Families, During this unique time, we hope to communicate clearly with you the changes, cancella-tions and important information concerning the confirmation program and faith learning classes for younger students. Rest assured, we know the importance of our loved ones, so every decision will have the safety of our community as our top priority. As a result we are currently: Cancelling all faith formation classes (1st through 8th grade) and confirmation classes un-til Monday, April 6th. This includes first communion, RCIA, youth ministry gatherings, special events, service projects, etc. Also, we are giving year 3 students extra time to complete their requirements (e.g. service hours) before our confirmation ceremony in April. As more information is released concerning the coronavirus we will update you via email and text. Finally and most importantly, know that our parish staff and team are praying for you and our community during this challenging time. Blessings, Nancy and Joe
