Author and principal investigator. Title: Studying the Assessment of Student Teaching Period: September, 1999 – August, 2000 (extended to August, 2002) Amount: $2,988 Funding Source: New York University Research Challenge Fund

Co-author and co-principle investigator with Margot Ely and LaMar P. Miller Grant: Teaching for Success: Robin Hood Initiative in Head Start Education Period: A five year study 1994-1999. Amount: $1,137,290 Funding Source: Robin Hood Foundation

Co-principal investigator with Christopher Clark Title: Studying and Learning to Teach in Urban Settings: Small Scale Research and

Practice Period: A five year study 1994-1999.

Period: April, 1996 and April, 1997 Amount: $3,000 each year Funding Source: American Educational Research Association pre-sessions

Author, recipient, and program director of a STEP grant (Science and Technology Entry Programs) Period: June 1988 – 1989

Funding Source: New York State Education Department to Manhattanville College. Approximately $300,000. Because it involved not only the state Education Department, the school district, the college, and multiple corporate donors, it is difficult to assign the exact amount of funding. The grant was the result of a two-year collaboration between faculty of Manhattanville College and Woodlands High School in the Greenburgh Central #7 School District.

Co-Author and Co-principal investigator (with Helen Freidus) of a grant to screen and

mainstream handicapped children at the preschool level Period: 1979-1981 Amount: $5000 total Funding Source: New York State Education Department to the Woodland School This was the first grant given by the NY State Education Department for preschool special

education. We were able to bring four children into the multi-age classes of the school and see them move successfully into public school. We were also able to support a screening process that served all children in the school and enabled professional development around child study among the school’s faculty; and we developed a series of assessment workshops for preschool teachers in Northern Westchester.
