Page 3: Franklin Cents

Franklin Cents, also called Fugio Cents, were the first pennies issued by the

United States. Benjamin Franklin designed the coins to remind Americans to

pay attention to their work because time flies. Our Franklin is working to buy

a Big Mountain Bike … but if he doesn’t pay attention to his work, something

might go wrong. Let’s see what happens!

This story was written to honor and celebrate First Service Bank’s fiftieth

anniversary. We hope you enjoy it.

More than anything, Franklin wants a Big Mountain Bike.

Sammy would rather have a Princess Bike.

At the bank, Franklin takes

the $10 he saved out of his account.

But a Big Mountain Bike costs $40!

The Princess Bike costs $30! But Sammy doesn’t

have any money.
