Currently WRHSAC is reaching out to introduce and explain the regional resources that are now available to local communities and groups who are engaged in emergency response.

For more than ten years the Western Region Homeland Security Advisory Council (WRHSAC) has been assisting communities in the four Western Massachusetts counties to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies. Currently WRHSAC is reaching out to introduce and explain the regional resources that are now available to local communities and groups who are engaged in emergency response.

Regional Planning Agencies’ staff are travelling around the Western Massachusetts region to speak to county and regional emergency preparedness groups, detailing many of WRHSAC’s projects and resources. Groups being targeted include the following: Police, Fire, EMS, Public Health, Hospital, Communications, Municipal Government, Emergency Management, Schools, and community voluntary organizations.

Public Outreach materials used in these presentations include a variety of short videos (of 5 minutes or less) about each of the following projects: General Information Overview Companion Animal Sheltering Community Organizations

Strategy Report Emergency Rest Centers Faith Community Partnering in

Emergency Preparedness
