Welcomebacktoanotherfun,safe,andhealthyyearasleadersatJohnsHopkinsUniversity!Thepastyearflew
byandmanychangesoccurred.Whileweacknowledgechangeisdifficult,togetherwenavigatedtherelease
oftheHomewoodUndergraduateOff-CampusPartyRegistrationandSafetyPolicy,theChapterAssessment
Program,HopkinsGroupsRegistration,andahostofupdatedrequirementstoalignourcommunitystandards
morecloselytothenationalbestpractices.ThesepolicieslaidaframeworkforastrongerFraternityand
SororityLife(FSL)Community.
Inadditiontothenewpolicyandproceduresimplementation,wealsoprovideddevelopmentalopportunities
intheformofNewMemberOrientation,alcoholbystanderinterventiontraining,riskmanagement,and
diversitytraining.WeappreciateyourwillingnesstoworkcollaborativelywiththeFSLofficeandthebroader
Hopkinscommunityasweworkedthroughthosechanges.Weareconfident,thatincollaborationwithall
ofyouastheprimarystakeholdersforthefraternityandsororitycommunity,wecancontinuetomakehuge
stridesthisupcomingyear.

Officer Retreat
TheOfficeofFraternityandSororityLifesponsors
anannualovernightretreatforallchapterpresidents
andcouncilexecutiveboardofficers.Thisretreatwill
providetheopportunityforfraternity/sororityleaders
tobuildrelationshipswithinandacrosscouncils,
developplansforthecomingyear,collaborateon
community-wideeventsandprograms,andpartici-
pateindialoguesaboutcriticalissuesinthefraternal
movement.

Additionally,theFSLcommunitydonatedover$47,000dolllarstovariousorganiztionsintheformofmoney
orgiftsinkindduringthe2016calendaryear.
