Profile of the District Jhang Although the District Jhang was created in 1849 but its history dates back to times

immemorial. Jhang was invaded by the forces of Alexander the Great on his way

back to Macedonia in the 4th century BC. The city of Jhang was founded by Mal

Khan Sial in 1462 AD. Sial tribe ruled this city for 360 years before the Sikhs took

over later Jhang was taken over by the British and given the status of a district.

District Jhang is situated in the central Punjab and is the second largest district of

the Division Faisalabad. The district lies between 30.37 to 31.59 degree north

latitudes and 71.37 to 73.13 degree east longitudes. District Jhang is adjoined by

Toba Tek Singh & Faisalabad Districts to the east, District Hafizabad to the north-

east, District Khanewal on the south, District Sargodha & Chiniot on the north,

District Khushab, Bhakkar & Layyah on the west. District Jhang has three tehsils

Jhang ,Shorkot and Ahmed Pur Sial in its revenue limits

Opening Ceremony of Medical Camps.

On 23th Sep, 2014 at 9:30 am, an Orientation Ceremony of Free Medical Camps was conducted in Balloshahabal district Jhang with the participation of Local Administration and Health Department Incharge Medical Camp Dr Rashid Mahmood, MBBS (CMO DHQ Jhang), Yasir Hussain (Dispenser) M. Jahanzeb Qaiser (HANDS Organization Camp Coordinator), Syed Nazakat Ul Hasnain, Principal Government College Tehsil Bhowana Distt Chiniot. Syed Zahid Abbas Shah, Director HDO Jhang. Mr Aqib Styanvi (Punjabi Poet) Ashfaq Hussain Chaddhar from SDO Jhang, Sajid Sial Azeemi from CSD Jhang, Ch Bakht Yar Haider Chaddhar, Executive Director SDO participated in the opening ceremony. Details of Medical Camp: Social Development Organization, Jhang with the team of “HANDS” organization organized free medical camp for flood affected village of Balloshahabal/Surrounding areas of Balloshahabal many people were injured due to migration & destruction caused by the flood more than 200 (Two Hundred) patients were treated in the medical camp afterwards prescribed medicines were also issued free of cost to the checked patients

Skin diseases Anemia Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ARI) Respiratory Tract Infection (RTI) Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) Gastro Intestinal diseases Eye Infections Minor Injuries Fever

A large number of communities of Balloshahabal participated too and they showed their cooperation for the success of these medical camps. The participants highlighted the problems of flood victims and turned the attention of government to district Jhang. They all thanked SDO Jhang for its immediate response and emergency/relief activities. The District Coordination Officer requested to the community members that do get benefit of these medical services.

SDO plan to have more medical camps on large scale and worm cloths and

blankets for the flood victims. We hope that we would be able to do that if it gets

possible. Please keep us in your prayers
