Happy Birthday Pie!? We would like to start a new tradition this year by tying birthdays and Thanksgiving together into
a sweet celebration. Please volunteer to bring a tub of ice cream, whip cream, or a pie on November 19th. After a
healthy lunch, we will share a slice of pie and sing a rousing song of “Happy Birthday” for all students celebrating a
birthday between August and December. Please email Marla Kay at [email protected] with your sweet selection.

To Do List
mailto:[email protected]
Other than paintings, all artwork must be matted for the Fall
Exhibit. Generally the final pieces fit within a 9X12 matte;
however, confirm the required size with your child’s instructor. A
limited selection of mattes will be available for purchase for $5 on
Crazy Day, or you’ll need to send a matte with your child. Helpers
will be available during Crazy Day to matte the final artwork.
Be sure NOT to frame the artwork or mount it behind glass as we
will be taking pictures of all the artwork for the web gallery.

A Winter Wonderland of Art
Pizza Party Known as “Crazy Day”, the last day of classes is December 3rd.
Since everyone will be finishing their projects and getting them
submitted for pictures, Church St. Pizza will be flying in delicious
pizzas at 11am. The final day of school will be crazy enough
without adding sack lunches to your list. So, roll up your sleeves
and help us process the masterpieces for the exhibit, and leave
the lunch to Church St. Pizza!
Encourage your child to memorize this term’s memory verse:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23
Displaying a vast array of student talent, the
Fall Exhibit is the perfect opportunity to invite
all your friends and family to enjoy your child’s
creations. We invite all guests to vote on their
favorite pieces in each of the five categories.
Winners are announced at the Awards Potluck
on Dec. 17th.
Trimmed in silver, black, white, and deep blue,
the Upper Room will be transformed into a
classy gallery of finest proportions. Raffles,
wreaths, cards, calendars, music, and delicious
foods will add to the perfect atmosphere.
However, to make this dream a reality we will
need EVERY family to participate in some
fashion. Students too! Please contact Mistie
directly at [email protected] to
volunteer today!

Whether your child attends classes full-time or part-time, you are 100% necessary for the success of
MSOA Salem School!
Hello MSOA Salem!
I have really been enjoying my first term as
your Director and am looking forward to
leading future terms to a great success. We are
working towards offering more classes next
term, such as Color Theory, Composition and
maybe even an Illustration class. Our spring
schedule will be posted this month on our
website, so be sure to keep your eye on our
monthly newsletters that are put together so
beautifully by our very talented Administrator,
Marla Kay Trahan.
Everyone on staff this year has been so helpful
and is putting forth 100% into offering your
children the best art education they can get.
We appreciate those who have been joining us
for prayer at 8:30 every Monday and welcome
anyone else who would like to join us in
covering this school in a blanket of prayer.
God is the one ultimately leading this school
and we want to continually bring Him glory
and honor in all that we do.
We need our families to get behind the three
fundraisers we are offering this term so that we
can get laptops for computer classes. We have
lots of ideas and teachers on standby for
computer classes to offer, hopefully as early as
our next Fall term. We can’t do this without
your help.
The kids are now selling a beautiful calendar
that is filled with amazing artwork from our
students and inspiring scripture; something
that is sure to be treasured all year long. This is
our biggest fundraiser this term, so please help
us by motivating your children to sell and
possibly helping sell them yourself. Take them
to your work place, to church and they also
make great Christmas presents! Continued..
…We also have high hopes for our Greeting Card fundraiser,
which is new this term, and our Christmas Wreath fundraiser.
If you bought a wreath last year, then you know how big and
beautiful (and smelling of fresh pine!) these wreaths are.
Everyone could use a wreath for their front door or maybe just
a centerpiece for their holiday table. Be sure to check out our
fundraiser page on the website for how you can help raise
money so we can offer your children the tools they need to
further their growth in their education with our school.
It’s hard to believe we’re rounding the bend to finishing up our
Fall term. We are looking very forward to seeing the display of
all the artwork created this term by our very talented students.
I look forward to seeing you all at our Exhibit in
December. Many blessings and thank you for continuing to
pray for our families and school.
~Lisa

requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all
understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
