General Information

• Who is organizing the Challenge? o The Challenge is a partnership between the League of American Bicyclists, Bikes Belong,

Kimberly-Clark Corporation, and Endomondo - a mobile based sports and fitness tracking community.

• What is the Challenge? o The Challenge is an exciting new program that encourages people to bike for transportation and

recreation. o It is open and free to anyone who lives in the U.S. or works for an organization with U.S.

employees.

• What is the history of the Challenge? o 2012 is the first year of the Get Up & Ride National Bike Challenge. In 2011, Kimberly-Clark

partnered with the Wisconsin Bicycle Federation to successfully pilot a Wisconsin statewide challenge. Since 2009, Kimberly-Clark Corporation has offered the Get Up & Ride Challenge internally to its more than 50,000 employees.

GET UP & RIDE• How much does it cost?

o The Challenge is offered free to all individuals, teams and organizations.

• Who can participate? o The Challenge is open to all persons who either live in the US or work for an organization with US

employees.

• What’s in it for me? o In addition to improving your health, saving money and helping the environment, the Challenge

is a fun way for participants who live in the U.S. to have a chance to win some great prizes and awards at the end of the Challenge.

o For organizations, the Challenge provides a fun and free health and wellness program for your employees.

• When does it start? o The Challenge is a four month program that begins May 1, 2012 and ends August 31, 2012.

• Can I participate as an individual? o Riders can participate either as an individual or on a team of up to 10 persons.

• Can I participate with my company? o Yes. If your workplace has not yet registered for the Challenge, after you have finished

registering as an individual, you will have the option to register your company into the Challenge.

• Can I participate with my university or college? o Yes. If your organization has not yet registered for the Challenge, after you have finished

registering as an individual, you will have the option to register your organization into the Challenge.

o Participants in the university/college category are students, faculty and employees of the university or college.

Rules • What are the rules?

o The official National Challenge rules are available in the Toolkit at www.endomondo.com/campaign/national/rules.

Sign Up • When can I sign up?

o Individuals can join at www.endomondo.com/campaign/national. Registration Instructions for Individuals are can be found in the Videos at

www.endomondo.com/campaign/national/videos. o Organizations can join at www.endomondo.com/registration/organizations.

• What information is needed at sign-up? o Participants provide their name, email address and zip code, and accept the Challenge waiver.

Teams • Participants have the option to form teams of 1-10 riders for the Challenge.

o When you have finished registering yourself, you will have the option to create or join a team.

• A participant who creates a team is by default the Captain of the Team o Team Captains can change during the Challenge if they wish to appoint someone else to be the

Captain.

Team Membership • How do I know I am on a team?

o Go to the Team’s page on the Leaderboard. If you are on a Team, the Team points bar will be highlighted in green.

Ride Logging

• Participants have two options to enter rides o If you have a smart phone or other GPS device, the free Endomondo App is easy to use and

automatically uploads your rides. Download the free Endomondo smart phone App at

www.endomondo.com/campaign/national/downloadapp Endomondo has integrated import from the Garmin Forerunner series (running

watches) and Edge Series (bike computers). 1. You can read exactly which devices and how in this Endomondo FAQ:

o Additionally, all rides can be added using the manual entry feature of the website. Instructions to log miles and rides manually can be found in the Videos at

• How much time do I have to enter my rides o To be eligible for the monthly prize drawings, all rides for each month must be entered by

11:59 pm of the last day of each month. Leaderboard

• What is the Leaderboard? o Participants in each category will be ranked based upon total Challenge Points with the exception

of Cities and States, which will be ranked based on total Challenge Points per 1000 residents. o Rankings will be available on both local and national levels and will include the following

categories: Riders, Teams, Workplaces, Communities and States Workplaces are categorized as follows:

• Businesses, Non-Profits and Public Agencies based on number of employees • University/College based on number of students
