Philosophia “Love of Wisdom”. The pursuit of wisdom from research of history and knowledge of the world. The philosophia here is sourced from our extensive personal collection of vintage books and magazines, our own images throughout the years, the photography for our graphic artwork, and particular pieces from the collection. Most all the t shirt designs in the line are created from our own photography. What starts out as an idea amongst the designers is then produced in the particular manner best suited for the idea. For example, for the Evidence T, the idea was inspired by objects that linger in the evidence room of the police department. We focused on the particular gun that Lee Harvey Oswald, the man who himself murdered John F Kennedy, was murdered by: a .38 revolver. The cover page of the newspaper with the news of the murder was printed out and wrapped around the gun with rubber bands. The tag with the evidence information was shot separately. Then the artwork went through countless versions and critiques before the final one was finished and sent to print.

trained under the tutelage of famed coaches freddy Roach and eric Brown, Southern california born boxer Zachary Wohlman dazzled audiences in his professional boxing debut on December 2nd. Victorious in his first bout, a unanimous 4 round decision, Zachary has recently partnered with freshjive. Developing organically over time, the relationship first started as a model for hire and then progressed into a friendship between Zac and freshjive owner Rick Klotz. initially designing his fight robe and trunks, freshjive recently produced an introductory video on the Zac, with more videos to be released in the upcoming months. With a style, class, and knowledge of boxing history not seen in today’s boxing world, Zac is destined to be a major contender.

celebrated by some and condemned by others, the legacy of “freeway” Ricky Ross is a tale of ambition, excess and devastation. largely responsible for spreading the crack cocaine epidemic throughout los angeles in the 1980’s, Ross built a drug empire that functioned similarly to a fortune 500 company. establishing crack houses throughout the city, Rick earned the nickname “freeway” from the numerous properties he owned along the 110 harbor freeway in los angeles. earning over $600 million in his career, the entrepreneur managed to grow his empire to epic proportions all while being illiterate. in 1996, Ross was arrested and sentenced to prison, although his story didn’t end there. following his arrest, Ross became the subject of further con-troversy when he was linked to nicaraguan exile and cocaine trafficker oscar Danilo Blandon. With oscar being an informant for the cia and tied to the iran-contra debacle, many believe the connection supports the conspiracy that the u.S government was responsible for spreading crack cocaine into poor african american neighborhoods throughout the u.S.

now free and out of prison, Ross has embarked on re-appropriating his own name, which was pirated by the famed miami rap artist, Rick Ross.

as co-founder of the Black panther party, political and urban activist huey p. newton garnered national attention for his contributions to the civil rights movement in america. the group’s provocative rhetoric and militant posture (both cultural and political) permanently altered the contours of american identity. taking the ongoing movement for civil rights and equality for african americans one step further, the party started various social programs and initiatives. “huey could take street-gang types and give them a social consciousness, ” remembers oakland county Supervisor John george. the fBi, then run by J. edgar hoover, sought to destroy the Black panther party as it was perceived as a danger to american society. through its cointelpRo counterintelligence program designed to neutralize political dissent, hoover conducted illegal covert operations which lead to the murder of various Black panther party members. although the party dissolved in later years, the legacy of huey p. newton serves as a historic reminder of the power passionate citizens hold when fighting for social justice.
