THS has a senior mentoring program.

Select seniors tutor ninth graders and

serve as their peer mentors.

Did You Know?Each student will select an academy at the end of freshman year.

Students will explore all academies throughout 9th grade during Career Preparedness classes.

sophomore homeroom.

Advanced Honors Endorsement

•Student must pass core requirements at HR, AP, DE or IB level

•Student must pass 4 years of English instruction at HR, AP, DE or IB level

•Student must pass Algebra I and Geometry as one-semester courses

•Student must pass HR algebra II with Trigonometry and one other HR, AP or DE level mathematics credit

•Student must pass HR Biology, CP Chemistry I, CP or AP physics and one other upper level science credit

•Student must pass 4 years of Social Studies instruction at HR, AP or DE level

•Student must pass two credits in the same world language

•Student must earn a minimum of 30 total credits

•Student must maintain 3.5 GPA (cumulative grade point average) and have acceptable attendance and conduct

Testing

In 2014, eleven THS students earned the AP Scholar Award

for successfully passing three or more national AP

exams. One student was a NATIONAL AP SCHOLAR!

Students have a number of standardized tests to take throughout their high school tenure.

End of Course Test (EOC) Administered at the end of the semester in select core courses.

End of Quarter Test (EQT) Administered at the end of each quarter in core courses. Accounts for 20% of quarter average.

PLAN Test Administered in the fall to all 10th graders.

ACT Administered in the spring to all 11th graders.

AP Exam Administered to students enrolled in AP courses.

Did You Know?Over 90% of the AP Art students at THS who tested this year passed their exams and earned college credit.

THS students placed best overall and best in the high school division for the 2014 MAWSS Watercolor Contest.

Bell Schedule

Take In: 7:20 a.m.Dismissal: 2:40 p.m.

Tardy stations are set up to document students who fail to make it to class on time!

Disciplinary actions are in place for tardies.

Students are expected to be present and on time each day. Each block counts separately.

Zero Credits

A “No Credit” will be issued if a student has 5 or more unexcused absences Absences are counted in each class separately. Four parent notes (excused) are allowed per semester.

Four tardies = 1 unexcused absence

UniformsStudents must abide by the uniform policy established by the school. The complete policy may be found in the student handbook as well as the school’s website under “Parent Info”. Failure to adhere to the uniform policy will result in disciplinary action.
