FAMILy TEES(TEE IT FORWARD INITIATIVE) The PGA has implemented the “Tee it Forward”initiative to help golfers enjoy the game as wellas to grow the game by in an attempt attract

new junior golfers, families and beginning golfers tothe game of golf. There is a flyer located at thehandicap computer to help golfers identify whichtees they should play. Most people already know thatwe have 3 sets of tees (blue, white and green), butmany are unaware that we also offer 3 blended teeoptions (blue/white, green/white and green/gold)for golfers to play, as well. Scorecards are available inthe proshop to provide tee and handicap information. We have also re-implemented family tees

throughout the course. You will see these disks (Goldand Black) located in the fairway to provide adequatestarting points for juniors and beginners, as well as forfamilies to come out and play together. DuringTwilight Play (after 3pm), we will also allow juniorsunder the age of 15 to play for FREE whenaccompanied by a paying adult. Family tee scorecardsare also available in the proshop.

We are happy to have the October storm andrecord rain fall behind us. The courseexperienced over 17" of rain but handled

the event as well as could be expected. The coursewas closed for about 6 days and we were able toreopen the entire course by Friday, October 9th. Afterthe waters receded we were able to apply a fungicideto mitigate any potential disease that could have beencaused by the prolonged standing water. As we approach November, we are pleased with the

overall turf health and condition of the golf course, especially the new mini-verde greens which have nowgrown-in nicely. Now that cooler temperatures areupon us, our growing season is essentially over. Wewill continue to maintain the greens height where theycurrently are (.150') until next spring to protect andinsulate them to for their first winter. It is critical thatwe maintain the stand of grass to ensure a smoothspring transition. Keeping the greens heights slightlyhigher will help the grass stay healthy throughout thewinter. And, we have also been applying the chemicalChloro-Green on the course greens throughout thewinter which will allow the dormant grass to keep itsgreen color. This spray pigment is not a paint or dyeand does not cause any stress to the grass plant. Wecontinue to request your help in repairing ball markson the greens and filling your divots with sand, especially with the longer recovery periodexperienced during the winter months. Also, we have over-seeded all tee boxes on the

course and practice in an effort to help with the heavyconcentration of use in those areas throughout thewinter. We will however continue the practice of notover-seeding fairways and greens again this yearwhich has proven to have a very positive impact onthe quality of our turf, especially in our fairways. Wehave raised the heights in the fairways to allow for athicker stand of grass for our winter players.Hopefully, mother nature will be kind to us this winterand we'll have the course in great shape for nextspring. If you have any questions regarding the golfcourse, please feel free to contact me. Gordon Williams,Golf Course Superintendant

COOSAW CREEK ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITY

TO ALL MEMBERS:DO yOu OWN yOuR OWN BuSINESS?

If so, the Club might have the perfect vehicle by which to promote that business. With the new Visage GPS System on the golf carts, we would like to introduce thenew advertisement component of the system which has the potential to provideadvertising opportunities to a limited number of prospective clients.

HOW DOES IT WORK? For an annual fee you can display an advertisement in the form of a high quality visual display on the cartmonitor. The display will initially appear as the cart departs a particular green and remain on the monitorin full size until the cart arrives at the next tee box. Once departing the tee box area, the advertisementwill reduce to a small size but continue to appear throughout that particular hole. The business can choosewhich hole to display their advertisement or purchase multiple holes if desired (as available).

AS A MEMBER AT COOSAW CREEK, WHy SHOuLD I INVESTA PORTION OF My ADVERTISING BuDGET IN THIS FORMAT?

This form of advertisement has proven to be beneficial to businesses as it:• Will be viewed by every golfer who rents a cart – both members and public. Coosaw Creek had over 25,000 rounds last year.

• Can provide your business information (address, phone number, web site address, etc.) to the golfers.

• Introduce your product or service to Club Members and golfers.• Display your brand or logo.• Offers your company instant exposure to a particular targeted audience.• Drives more customers to your business.

This advertising format is unique in that:• This is the only avenue to advertise to Coosaw Creek golfers.• There are not many advertisers so your ad will not get lost in a sea of other ads.• Offers the flexibility to continually improve and innovate to meet your changing needs.

This opportunity is being offered to MEMBERS ONLY at this time for a reduced annual fee. Aftermembers have taken advantage of this promotion, any remaining spots will be opened to localbusinesses and/or clients.

CONTACT MIKE BENNER OR MIKE SCIOLI TO TAKE ADVANTAGEOF THIS OPPORTuNITy OR TO OBTAIN ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
