Thank you to our children and families for the fantastic support they showed us during Red Nose Day
and our Mad Hair event last week. The school was vibrant and fun-filled as we continued our learning.
There were many wild and crazy creations and I’m sure parents had been up since the crack of dawn
to create them! A great effort all round! We raised funds for Comic Relief as well as receiving lots of
donations for our upcoming Easter Bingo event as a result. Thank you for your generosity. We
welcome everyone to the bingo event next week and hope you manage to win lots of Easter prizes!
This term is already coming to an end and the children finish on Thursday 28th March for a two week
break. Please note that we return to school on Monday 15th April for the start of the summer term.
In response to recent feedback from parents, Mrs Higginson will be holding a meeting to further
explain the information that you receive on your child’s progress. Some parents have explained that
they would like an opportunity to talk about the information they receive and how this reflects the
abilities of their child. This meeting relates to the pupil reports that are sent out each term and will
provide an opportunity for you to ask any questions you have. The meeting will take place next week
on Thursday 28th March at 2.45pm.

Netball Team
This week our netball team played a match at St Margaret Wards Primary school in Sale. The team showed great sportsmanship, were extremely enthusiastic and their behaviour was a credit to the school. Well done!
Art ClubOn Thursday the children in Art Club created 3D pictures of their hands. Over the last
few weeks they have learnt how to use collage, tone and painting techniques. Mrs
Jennings has been extremely impressed with their creations. Their ‘Space’ pictures
are currently on display in the KS1 corridor.

Reading at home
Regular reading has the biggest
impact on childrens’ learning.
Research shows that it extends
vocabulary which in turn can improve
achievement in all curriculum
subjects, not just English! With this in
mind, it is important that children read
every night after school. This only
needs to be for approx. 10-15 minutes
but has huge benefits. Please ensure
you sign your child’s reading record
to demonstrate that this is being
done.
