This class covers the methods used to locate persons using historical call detail records, precision location data and E-911 pings. This session covers how cell phones work in the wireless networks, how to understand call detail records and how to obtain them. These methods are widely used in criminal and civil cases to “place” a person at a location based on their cell phone usage. Real case examples will be used to illustrate how location evidence is used in cases ranging from murder to trucking accidents. 2:15 p.m. Ignition Interlock – Licensing, Law and Machines. This session will review the changes in state law and licensing for the Ignition Interlock program. This includes a nuts and bolts primer about PennDOT paperwork and process, fees, ignition interlock as an option for ARD, and license surrender. Attention will be paid to typical client questions and smoothing their path forward from installation to removal of ignition interlock devices. Cancellation Policy: All cancellation and refund requests must be made in writing before close of business on February 15, 2019. A refund of the full conference fee, minus a $75 administration fee, will be given for cancellations received by February 15. No refunds will be granted for requests dated or postmarked after that date. You must submit your cancellation via email to: [email protected]. Refunds will not issue for no-shows.

Substitutions: If you cannot attend, a colleague may take your place or your materials will be mailed to you. The individual submitting the transfer request is responsible for all financial obligations (any balance due) associated with that substitution.

CLE Credits: You will be eligible to receive up to 6 total continuing legal education credits including five substantive hours of law, practice and procedure credit and 1 ethics credit hour from the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
