DESCRIPTIONThis activity will educate health care practitioners regarding the current understanding of the risks and benefits of CABG and PCI and their use in clinical practice. Through an evidence-based approach to these options, providers will be able to incorporate the most up-to-date research into their clinical practice and, thus, optimize patient outcomes.

LEARNING OBJECTIVESAfter completing this educational activity, participants will be able to do the following:
• Describe the options for noninvasive testing and the patient populations that will benefit most from their use
• Critically assess the evidence-base supporting expanded use of PCI in revascularization
• Debate the clinical trial results comparing bioresorbable stents vs traditional drug-eluting stents
• Critically assess the evidence base supporting CABG use for revascularization
• Summarize recent data on concomitant diseases, quality measures, and surgical techniques, and describe their implications for clinical practice
