HEALTHCARE: THE DOCTOR WILL SEE YOU NOWIt’s no surprise that healthcare coverage remains a mystery to be solved. Who should pay for it? Will universal healthcare be the trick? Patients want quality care, convenience and to be seen right away – at a reasonable cost, of course. What lies ahead as debates continue over the best type of healthcare system?Sponsored by

TRANSPORTATION: SEE IT THROUGHLos Angeles’ transit system and infrastructure are transforming before our eyes. Projects are currently under development, and more are in the process of being planned. What challenges will meet us squarely face to face? What opportunities will we seek? We have money and we have plans, but the road ahead will not be easy. Will we see it through?Sponsored by

ADDRESSING HOMELESSNESS: NOT AS EASY AS IT LOOKSEach year, the homeless population increases with no apparent end in sight. Addressing homelessness is not as easy as it looks, and it’s not just about increasing our housing supply. How can we help families and individuals break the cycle of homelessness? How do we help our neighbors off the street with tools that will help them find jobs and stable housing?Sponsored by

ENERGY/GREEN NEW DEAL: DON’T BE DECEIVEDNew policy proposals to achieve our city and state’s ambitious climate goals may not be what they appear. Could your eyes be deceiving you? Our energy reliability and affordable costs could be jeopardized without a full examination of our clean energy vision. How can we work towards a balanced energy approach without a tunnel vision approach? Sponsored by

2019 BUSINESS FORECAST CONFERENCE

SPORTS: ALL EYES ON USLos Angeles is fast becoming the sports mecca of the world, with the eyes of the world turning our way. If you can imagine it, we host it: eleven major league teams, Olympics, Super Bowl, MLB All-Star Game. What does this mean for our economy and our community? Our panel will discuss the potential that sports can realize for our region.Sponsored by

DATA SECURITY: BLINK OF AN EYEThe worst threats are the ones you never see coming. From hospitals to banks to government infrastructure that we all rely on, strong data security is critical to every business. This panel will shed light on the threats you don’t understand, the data breaches that sound like they’re named after a dystopian video game, and why data security is something that no business can turn a blind eye to.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: BEYOND THE CRYSTAL BALLThe future is ours to create, so how can we achieve the possibilities that we envision? Join our experts as we work together to paint a picture of the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles and explore the land use, transportation, infrastructure, and economic development opportunities that will get us beyond the crystal ball.Sponsored by

ELECTIONS: OBJECTS IN MIRROR ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEARWe’ll be just four months and seven days from Super Tuesday, and this primary season, California finally gets a look-in. But which candidates will wave goodbye to 2016 in the rearview mirror, and which ones will end up hitting an obstacle they hadn’t seen? Join our experts as they sort through what to look out for in the run up to 2020.
