Fringe 2020 Google Analytics Integration – Existing Google Analytics Account

Existing Google Analytics Account If you have an existing Google Analytics account, follow the instructions below. You will use this existing account to create a specific property for the Fringe integration.

1. Login to google analytics at analytic account at the following URL - https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/

2. Click into your existing ‘account’. Firstly selecting the drop down here:

Then selecting the view related to the account for your primary property. Note: most will only have one account, if you have more than one account select the most appropriate:

3. Create a new ‘property’ called Fringe 2020. Firstly, by loading the admin section of Google Analytics:

Then select ‘Create Property’:

You will then need to fill out the fields on the next page:

Fields for the above screen are detailed below with instructions:

a. What you would like to track i. Select ‘website’ as this is the type of property we would like to track

b. Website Name i. Give the ‘property’ a name, we recommend ‘Fringe 2020’

c. Website URL i. Paste the URL for your event page in here. If the event page isn’t live yet,

just add ‘adelaidefringe.com.au’ ii. Helpful Tip: when you copy the URL from a browser you need to remove

the http:// or https:// at the start of the URL as this is predefined in the field, as seen by the drop down

d. Industry Category i. Select a relevant category, we recommend ‘Arts and Entertainment’

e. Reporting Time Zone i. Select the time zone, we recommend the ‘Adelaide’ time zone as it’s more

likely your marketing efforts will need to be measure by the local timezone to Adelaide Fringe.

4. Get UA code, click the blue button at bottom of page to generate your code. Note: If

you’ve made a mistake entering one of the fields as red alert will appear under that field.

The screen will refresh showing you your new UA property code:

Select and copy that code.

5. Paste into AVR into the analytics section of your event, make sure you expand the ‘Google Analytics’ tab to see the below view:

6. Save the settings in AVR which will load the settings into your event page on adelaidefringe.com.au

7. You should see data flowing through into Google analytics within 24-48 hours.
