Two radiation oncology specific online modules have been included in the CHECK program, which is one of the RACGP’s educational activities.

Establish formal links with GP organisations in Australia and New Zealand
The Faculty had a teleconference with the College of GP’s seeking assistance with obtaining official recognition of the GP Night from RACGP through their CPD program for RANZCR such that all future GP education nights have RACGP CPD accreditation
Explore the possibility of getting official recognition of attending GP nights and advocacy-related activities through allocating CPD points to GPs and ROs respectively
Canberra Hospital successfully got approval from RACGP for CPD points for their GP Night.

Developing promotional resources
Producing tri-folder flyers to advise patients of how to access TC material
A new tri-folder brochure with generic information about radiation therapy and the campaign has been developed and printed.
Producing more TC cards, coffee cups, etc
TC caps were produced for the Fun Run/Walk at College ASM.
Other campaign activities
Improvement of the Targeting Cancer website through search engine optimisation
xxx visits to the site in December 2015. YOY the overall traffic increased by 36%, which is positive.
YOY the SEO traffic increased by 166% and is now the main driver of traffic to the site.
In September, the site ranks on the first page for some of the most popular terms in the industry including radiation oncology, brachytherapy etc
Develop new content for Targeting Cancer website
New website was launched at College ASM, and received positive feedback.
Recruitment of campaign ambassadors

Julie McCrossin has become the second official ambassador for the campaign, after Tommy Oar.

Continuous promotion and advocacy work through various channels
Tonic Health Media (THM) is an initiative of Norman Swan, and is an evidence-based patient education and entertainment system for GPs’, other clinicians and hospital waiting areas.
Agreement has been signed with THM to
for playing the Targets 38 second video on the THM network for 3 months
for making the 28 minute documentary and editing the 4 self-contained videos about radiation therapy, and for broadcasting on ABC News24 and THM network
Filming of the documentaries has taken place on 16 October.
Promote radiation oncology teaching to medical students in Australia and New Zealand

A working group, with representatives from all States and New Zealand, has been formed to promote the teaching of radiation oncology to medical students.
