CASEMENT WINDOWS
There really is something romantic about the traditional use of timber for the manufacturing of your windows and doors. Naturally renewable and sustainably sourced, timber is as beautiful as it is strong and as welcoming as it is secure.
Our timber windows boast a system that is packed full of innovations, bringing with it the benefits of security, warmth, warp resistance, weathering and modern glazing performance.
Master Craftsmen manufacture our windows in a range of styles from traditional to contemporary, bringing timeless or modern elegance to any type of property. Our storm proof and flush casement options, can be further
tailored with glass decorations including Georgian bars, diamond or square leaded patterns, and bevelled glass. You can also complement your selected window by specifying a colour or stain finish of your choice, and personalising it with our range of character wrought iron, textured or modern hardware.
Traditional flush casements are swung on butt hinges and paired with a traditional casement fastener and peg stay. The sight lines are reduced on this type of window making it ideally suited to period properties.
Modern flush casements are fitted with friction hinges and feature multipoint locking as standard. The added security

Our contemporary flush windows are the latest development in our window range. Using an intelligent pivot system, this window has easily removable side swung casements for ease of fitting; and there is no need for a traditional peg stay as the sash can be locked in the open position using the handle.

Our beautiful timber sash windows are designed and made especially for you by Master Craftsmen, using traditional methods allied with modern technology to deliver a product that is both beautiful in appearance and durable.
As with our timber casement windows, you can tailor your sash windows with glass decorations such as Georgian bars, and specify obscure glass for
privacy. All our timber windows can be specified in a protective paint or stain finish, including our range of RAL or Farrow and Ball colours. Our bespoke sliding sash windows come in your choice of traditional weights and pulleys or the more modern spiral balances. We will fit vent locks and hardware in a choice of finishes giving you control over the look of the final product that will sit in your home.
We also provide a variation of our sliding sash window that has the latest dimensions, suitable for new builds where the windows’ solar gain is of the utmost importance.

CASE STUDY
We recommended our timber alternative window range, ‘Evolution’. This provided Mr and Mrs Jarvis with all the look and feel of timber, but without the associated maintenance. We supplied and installed the ‘Evolution Flush’ window with the Astragal bar feature, which provided a superb and sympathetic finish to the traditional style of the property. Nearby property owners even stopped to enquire about the windows we installed as they could not believe they weren’t timber.
Mr and Mrs Jarvis wanted to replace the windows and doors in their home, retaining its traditional appearance but avoiding the future maintenance associated with timber windows.

CASE STUDY
We provided a CAD (computer aided design) drawing of the proposed orangery to enable the customer to visualise and modify the design to their taste. We discussed brickwork and render options, as well as window and door colour options in order to tailor their design and fully enhance the existing house, providing a beautiful room and adding value to their home. The contrast of a block and rendered construction with grey windows,
doors and roof led to a beautiful transformation to the rear of the property, and their living space.
Cherwell project managed and constructed the orangery from start to finish, providing our customer with a single point of contact throughout the works and giving them reassurance that all relevant tradesmen were being coordinated effectively.
Mr and Mrs Sargeant wanted to increase the size of their kitchen and dining area by constructing an orangery to the rear of their property. In order to maximise the use of the new living space, Cherwell proposed to fully open the house to the new orangery by installing a structural steel across the existing wall, creating a fantastic open plan area with a ‘wow factor’.

For homeowners looking to replace windows and doors with state of the art energy efficient windows, Cherwell has all the available options. With carbon emissions high on the global agenda and the rising cost of fuel, we are all looking for ways to make our homes more energy efficient.
So exactly what are Energy Efficient Windows? They are windows that help to contain and conserve heat, whilst also allowing natural “free” energy (the heat of the sun) to warm the home. They can be made using any frame material – timber, timber alternative, aluminium, or a combination of these materials.
The British Fenestration Rating Council (BFRC) Scheme is the UK’s national system for rating the energy efficiency of windows and is recognised within the Building Regulations as a method to show compliance for your replacement windows installation.
At Cherwell, we license all windows installations with our own BFRC approved in-house energy rating labels, giving you peace of mind that your windows and doors meet the industry quality standard. Cherwell specifies its windows up to A-Rating for all of our customers. A-Rated is one of the highest energy ratings available and refers to the combined efficiency of the glass and frame together.

At Cherwell we self-certify our window installations through FENSA, an industry institution that is recognised by all local authorities and the Government. Our timber supplier, Stanbrook and Nicholson, uses only the finest in quality engineered timber for the manufacturing of all our timber products. This timber is provided by Timbmet, one of the industry’s leading and pioneering timber traders, to provide us with the perfect source for all our timber needs.
Timbmet’s dedication to on-going development for the sourcing of sustainable timber, accompanied by a commitment to improving industry standards as a whole, has won them several awards over the last few years, including General Trader of the Year, Hardwood Trader of the Year, Panel Product Trader of the Year and, most prestigiously, Timber Trader of the Year.
The FSC certified 100% Red Grandis timber that we use for all our timber needs, is responsibly sourced from a sustainable plantation in Uruguay. Its certification reflects its proper use of forestry resources and the implementation of specific regulations, ensuring the plantations are well managed with consideration for people, wildlife and the environment.
This South American species is a high-grade timber with consistency in appearance, grain and workability. Increasingly used in furniture, cabinets, mouldings and within the window and door frame industry, Red Grandis can easily be finished to resemble other species such as Oak and Meranti, or alternatively it can be left untreated to weather to an attractive silver grey colour.
