Ljubljana's taxis are safe, clean and generally reliable. The starting rate is usually between €0.80-1.50 with a per kilometre rate of €0.70-1.70, depending on the company, time of day and number of passenger. Waiting usually costs €15-20 per hour. The Faculty of Education is approximately 3,5 km away from the City hotel. You can use City Public

Transport (Buses) to get to the Faculty. As the summer school is covering the cost of travel by public

transport, if participants use taxis, it is at their own expense.

City buses have an electronic payment system based on a no-contact smart card called Urbana.

Urbana cards are electronic ticket carriers. URBANA value card (yellow) is without a name of the

holder and is transferable. You can buy it and top it up with credit at Urbanomat top-up stations. The

payment must be made at the beginning of the ride by touching one of the green readers (validators)

with your card at on the bus. One fare will cost you 1,20€ and covers 90 minutes of travel within all

the City Public Transport bus routes. However, you should validate your card (touch the reader with

the Urbana card) every time you enter the bus. In order to pay for two or more passengers, please

tell the bus driver – before validation at the driver's reader (validator) – that you wish to buy more

than one ticket and how many would you like to buy. The passengers you pay for should stay near

you during the ride. Please remember, that all selling points where Urbana cards can be purchased

and topped-up are marked with a red round label with Urbana written on it.

Joint dinners on July 7, July 8, July 9 and July 10 are covered by the project for UNIKE members,

visiting lectures and guest speakers.

Associated fellows and visting PhDs have to register for dinner(s) in online registration form and

pay for themselves on the spot.

Joint dinner in Restaurant Livada on July 11 is not covered by the project and therefore all

participants (UNIKE members, visiting lectures, guest speakers, associated fellows and visting PhDs)

must register for dinner in online registration form and pay for themselves on the spot.

All chosen restaurants are within walking distance from City hotel, except for dinner on Wednesday,

July 9 when participants will visit Bled and then have a dinner in nearby restaurant. For this purpose

the organizers will secure bus transfer free of charge for participants.

In case you would rather not want to look for restaurants by yourself, the local organizers will

arrange that one representative of local organizers will wait for you in front of hotel and accompany

you to the restaurant. The provisional times of departure from City hotel are:

On Wednseday, July 9 a dinner will be organised outside of Ljubljana. We are going to start our journey at 15.45 hrs in front of City Hotel where there will be a bus waiting for us. We will be going to Gorenjska region (app. 45 min ride) and see famous lake Bled , where participants will have some time for exploring thecity and nature around the lake.

At approximately 19:30 hrs we will leave Bled and go to a famous restaurant Lectar in neighgouring city Radovljica. Arraival back to Ljubljana is expected approximately at 23:30.
