Dear Church Family,
This morning we welcome Tim Menzies - Nashville recording artist and songwriter. Tim will present “The Word and Song” in our 10:45 a.m. worship service. Artists like George Jones, Toby Keith, Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood, Mark Chestnutt, Shenandoah, and many others have recorded his songs. Tim and his wife, Janet, have one son – Timothy. In 1991, Tim’s life changed forever. Tim will share his story, God’s story and of course, songs from his Grammy-nominated, gospel album – His Way of Loving Me. I know you will make him feel at home.
We had a great Father’s Day at our church last week. I so appreciate the great response to our Men, Fathers and Sons Breakfast. Kathy Walker, our church hostess, kitchen staff and volunteers did a wonderful job. Also we had a great turnout for our showing of the I Can Only Imagine movie. Thank you, Pastor Nick, the Wolfe family and Victor Newell for serving us so well. It was an inspiring night, and the popcorn was great, too.
Last week, I introduced our devotional challenge for the month of July. We will have a Lord’s Supper Service on Sunday, July 29th. I want you to A.ttend that Sunday morning. Then I want you to B.uy one 28 day devotional book – Come to the Lord’s Table - for every Christian in your family. They are available in the church office and in the Main foyer today. Next, C.ommit to prepare your heart to take the Lord’s Supper in a worthy manner by following the 28 day devotional starting Sunday, July 1st. Finally, have a family D.evotional time once a week during the month of July. There are suggestions for this in the book. But I want each parent, but especially our fathers to pray a blessing on each child by name. What is this? It can be as simple as just thanking God for them by name. For more on this, listen to my sermon – ‘The Blessing,’ preached on Sunday, May 13th.
People of the Word…People of Prayer
I love you in the Lord, Bro. Greg

Brothers and sisters,
What a treat we have this week with Tim Menzies sharing his story through Word and Song in our AM service. I always love to hear a personal story of how Christ redeems. There are two parts to every testimony I listen for - despair & hope. For a person to be truly saved, they must first realize they have sinned against an almighty God and there is nothing they can do to redeem themselves. This creates deep anguish, fear, and despair. Then, I wait for the part of the story where they realize there is a remedy for their sin. There is hope in Jesus. He loves us and will forgive us if we put our faith and trust in him. I pray you will join me this Sunday morning as we hear how much God loves us through the ministry of Tim Menzies.
I would like to invite anyone who would like to play in an orchestra on Sunday, July 1, 2018, to a rehearsal on June 27, 2018 in the sanctuary from 5 - 6 p.m. We will prepare a prelude and hymn for Sunday morning as we celebrate, in part, the gift God has given us of our great nation. Anyone at any skill level is welcome to participate. Music will be handed out at the rehearsal. If you would like more information, please contact Nick at 601.757.5516 or Victor at 662.816.7128.
I love you all more than you know! Pastor Nick
