Please join us at our annual Mother's Day Brunch. As always, it promises to be another fantasc event. We are also hosng the Beer Beds Kick Off evening. Invites will be extended to our community, donors, and internal and external partners who potenally may want to support this very important fundraiser. The Board of Directors and Charity Division made a commitment to replace all manual beds in the home. Currently, we have approximately 60 electric beds. The new beds are state of art and have several features that will enhance the resident experience. The Charity has already purchased 15 beds which arrived at the end of the April. The beds will be distributed firstly to residents who are VERY HIGH RISK for FALLS. As everyone feels they are entled to a new bed, a very strict criteria has been developed for the distribuon of the new beds. The HOPE is that all of our residents will have an electric bed in the near future. So we need your HELP... The Charity is reaching out to YOU and our COMMUNITY. Each bed will be purchased at a cost of approximately $7000.00. We are asking for a person or group of persons buy one bed for $5000.00. Your name will be displayed on the bed as well a charitable receipt will be given. More importantly you will be HELPING our RESIDENTS. May is the month to celebrate our Mom's, Zia's, Nonna's and special women in our life. Please join us at our annual Mother's Day Brunch. As always, it promises to be another fantastic event.

UPCOMING EVENTS IN MAY

On Thursday May 5th 2016 at 10:00am we have Mariachi musicians to help us celebrate Cinco de Mayo.

On Thursday May 5th 2016 we will have Catholic Mass in the Multi-Purpose Room at 2:30pm.

Saturday May 7th 2016 we have the Friuli Terrace Choir joining us at 2:00pm in the Café/ Bar area.

Join us for our Mother’s Day brunch on Sunday May 8th 2016 from 11am-2pm. Tickets must be

purchased ahead of time.

From May 9th 2016– May 13 2016 we will be celebrating Nurses week at Villa Leonardo Gambin, join us for

different activities each day.

On Wednesday May 18th 2016 we have Coro Italia joining us in the Multi-Purpose Room at 2:00pm.

On Thursday May 19th 2016 at 10:00 recreation staff will be visiting all floors with Tim Hortons coffee and

treats.

Thursday May 19th 2016 at 2:30pm we will have Catholic Mass in the Multi-Purpose Room.

On Sunday May 21 2016, Shelma and family will be on the 2nd floor at 2:00pm to sing to our residents.

We will be welcoming Lillian and her Trio to entertain our residents on Wednesday May 25th 2016 at 6:00pm.

Saturday May 28th 2016 we will have Robert Macerollo playing the accordion in the Café/Bar area at 2:00pm.

Join us for our monthly birthday party on Tuesday May 31st 2016 at 2:00pm in the Multi-Purpose Room.

MOTHER’S DAY BRUNCH

Our Mother’s day brunch will be held in the Multi-Purpose Room on Sunday May 8th 2016 from

11:00am– 2:00pm. If you are interested in attending please see the receptionist to purchase your tickets.

Ticket prices for residents and children are $15.00. Non-Residents are $25.00.

Please purchase your ticket as soon as possible as space is limited.

Tickets will be on sale until Monday May 2nd 2016.

WELCOME TO OUR NEW DIRECTOR OF CARE– MARI DUNCAN

Mari is thrilled to be the new Director of Care at Villa Leonardo Gambin. Mari

comes to us from a long term care home in Cambridge where she was the Director

of Care. She has been a Registered Nurse for 30 years with the majority of those

years caring for seniors in long term care and retirement homes.

Please do not hesitate to call her at 905-265-6101 or drop by her office on the

second floor.

We are currently recruiting new Family Council members. Family Council is an

important link to residents and staff at Villa Leonardo Gambin and we gladly

welcome new and long standing family members to join this committee. Meetings will

WHEELTRANS ASSESSMENT SIGNUP

Please be advised that WheelTrans will soon be coming to Villa Leonardo Gambin to

conduct assessments for residents interested in becoming WheelTrans clients. They are

requiring 12+ to sign up before coming in to do the assessments. If you are not signed

up for this assessment please sign up with the receptionist at the front desk to be

added to the list. Without enough people signed up you will be required to travel to

their location to register for their services.
