Meet a College Mom

“She is far more precious than rubies.” -Proverbs 31:10b

This verse comes from a long and lyrical description of a woman. In Proverbs, wisdom is often poetically described as a woman, and this famous poem is certainly a picture of awise and capable person. More than that, this is a person who is treating God as God - respecting Him, trusting Him and living in light of His promises. According to Proverbs this, above all other achievements, denotes a wise person. We therefore all have muchto learn from this example - it is not just for women. That said, with Mothers Day around the corner, it is worth reflecting on the ways in which the women in our lives have taughtus aspects of what is contained in this passage. Our mothers play a significant role of course, but there are other women who influence, teach, lead and shape us. The scopeand influence of mothering is wide! This weekend as we particularly consider thesignificant women in our lives we’d do well to remember that each one is indeedmore precious than rubies.

I am a relatively new College Mom, currently in our second year. I have a daughter in Grade 1 and in Grade 00 with a third little girl starting in 2021. Our family has been truly blessed joining the College family with both our girls settling in and loving school from the very start. They wake up excited each day to get to school, wear their uniforms (and hat!) with pride, learn from their loving and caring teachers and make special friends.

Walking into the Junior Primary is like walking into a warm and welcoming home – everyone smiles and greets you and I'm filled with joy at the creative art and inspirational quotes and learning material in the foyer. We are also grateful for all the fun and exciting interactive days like birthday rings, Valentine’s Day picnics, Mothers' Daymornings, Rites of Passage and Muffin mornings.

We love being a part of the DGC family.

Caley Rosenberg - Junior Primary Mom

We are so impressed with all that the school offers as our girls love to getinvolved and try new things from sports to musical instruments, baking during creative day and coding on their Bee Bots. I have loved beinginvolved as a Class Mum and a member of the Parents' Association, and getting to meet so many of the lovely mums around the school.
