Dear Fellow Members, It was wonderful to see a big gathering for both ‘Oktoberfest’ held on Sunday 8th October and ‘Diwali Nite’ held on Saturday 28th October 2017. In fact, Diwali Nite was attended by more than 2000 members and guests. The Bavarian band enthralled everyone, and the Catering Department offered special items to the members including Pretzels, which were thoroughly enjoyed. The Vyas Brothers from Mumbai kept the youngsters on the dance floor right from the word go. The firework display was thoroughly enjoyed by the junior members and Diwali Nite saw families coming in colourful ethnic wear and enjoying themselves till the last song.

On the 5th of November 2017, the Sports Department is conducting a 5K / 10K Run and members are encouraged to join the Run and make it a success. On the same day, after the Run, the open-air exercise equipment which has been installed near the Squash court will be inaugurated. In the evening, the Library Department is organizing ‘Kannada Rajyotsava’ where many renowned Kannada artists will perform. Do come and join us for these events.

We shall be inaugurating the renovated Children’s Park, Anchor Hall, Chamber Reception, ‘C’ Block rooms and STP during the course of this month.

For the benefit of members, an electric charging point has been installed in the shopping complex car park area for charging of electric cars. The Canara Bank ATM will soon be made operational for the convenience of our members.

GREEN INITIATIVE

Members may kindly note that the Committee has decided not to send hard copies of the monthly bills from October 2017 onwards to contribute to the green movement to save the environment. Members who wish to receive hard copies of the bill are requested to register their names at the Main Reception or at Administrative Office during office hours or send their request through email to:

[email protected].

COUPONS SOLD DURING EVENTS After GST has been implemented all over India, it has become necessary for the Club Administration to issue separately coloured event coupons for liquor and catering. Catering services attract 18% GST whereas liquor sales do not come under the purview of GST. Separate coloured coupons for liquor clearly identify liquor sales and permit us to avoid unnecessary payment of 18% GST on this amount. The Club staff will be stationed at the exit to collect unused coupons and credit the amount to the members account. In case of guests / affiliated members left with unused event coupons, the same could be encashed at the Chambers reception or at the ‘return coupon counter’ at the event venue. Members to note that the validity of unused function coupons for encashment is only 30 days from the date of issue.
