The level of skill, preparation and talent was abundant across all of the evenings. A special mention must go to The Arts team who have worked so hard to make the event a success and an enjoyable experience for the performers. Upcoming events include the Senior School Outdoor Education Camp, Write A BOOK IN A DAY Competition, Literature Festival at the State Library for 80 of our top performing English students across Years 7-10, Second round of OLNA and then the countdown to the Year 12 Mock Exams in the holidays. One occasion of particular note that I would like to highlight is our Annual Athletics Carnival on Wednesday 6 September. Some significant work has been done to rejuvenate our school Houses and I am looking forward to seeing the staff and students wearing their colours on the day. If you are able to attend we always welcome parents along to view the events from the parent viewing area. If you intend to come along please rsvp to our front office on 9270 5700 so we can get an idea of the viewing area needed for our parents. Thanks for your ongoing support of Hampton and I look forward to seeing you in the school for the Athletics Carnival next week. ROBOCUP

Robocup for 2017 has been run and won. Sally and I took 29students in 8 teams to Curtin Uni on Friday and 13 students in4 teams on Saturday.

It was a very successful event in a number of ways.

First and foremost our students were very well behaved duringthe course of the event and were great ambassadors for theschool. The feedback from the students is they all enjoyed theexperience.

To everyone’s delight we had 4 teams make it through to thefinals, which was a very good effort and much better thananticipated. Our Year 10 Soccer Team, Year 9 Rescue, Year9 Dance and Year 8 Dance teams were there Saturday torepresent us.

They all gave it their best effort and the icing on the cake wasour Year 10 Soccer Team finished in 3rd place. Ryan Appleby,Dylan Findlay, Colby Gaynes and Adrian Mendoza were all veryproud of themselves, as we are. A photo of the happy winnersis below.

Year 9 Dance - Tani Jha, Blanche Deards (Audrey Turner wasthere Friday and unable to attend Saturday), Year 9 OpenRescue - Austin Gibbons, Dylan Cook, Braeden Gaynes andFranc John Thomas, and Year 8 Dance/Johanna Leyros, SarahMcKenzie and Pratistha Shrestha are all to be congratulated forthe efforts during Saturday Finals.

Others in our team were – Year 8s Filip Tanoski, BraidenClarkson, Tyler Stewart, Eleiot Osling and Year 7s Riley Awa,James Ross, Damien Adams, Frank Rossitto, Isabella Byrne,Emmanuel Alfred, Bennie Brennand, Liam Cameron, ZianSalcedo, Bailey Hewitt and James Neagle. All these wereunlucky to miss the finals, and should be proud of their effortsas there was a lot of competition with around 30 teamscompeting in both Secondary Dance and Secondary Rescue. There were also many teams that did not qualify for Friday’sevent as they were knocked out in one of the two metropolitanheats run earlier in the year.

Thank you to Sally and Maria for their efforts and gettingequipment there on short notice for Saturday.

Also thank you to Ethan and Jon-Luke Willemsen who turnedup on Saturday to support their friends.

Congratulations to all involved.
