CAPTAINS CORNER

Hello, This year has been a blast and we have been very lucky to have been school captains of BNPS. Message from Pasandul: 2016 has been an amazing year all round! The years spent in primary school have strengthened us to face the struggles awaiting us. The time has been extraordinary, offering lots of opportunities that aren’t possible anywhere else. This school has helped me grow from a young nervous child into where I am now. I hope the experiences and environment I have grown up in is around for a long time to come! As my journey concludes I would like to wish the class of “2017” and the rest of the school all the very best!

Message from Sophie: I came here in year four as a shy and nervous person. Throughout these years I have grown into an independ-ent and hardworking student with the help of many special people along the way. I would like to thank all my fellow classmates for always being supportive and caring. The teachers at BNPS have always been extremely dedicated and committed towards making learning and exploring fun rewarding and enjoyable for all of us. One of the most special things about BNPS have been the opportunities and activities. I have enjoyed them all from camps to cross country, from bike Ed to the resilience project. As my final day comes, the warm and wel-coming environment of BNPS will always follow me wherever l go. As to the class of 2016, good luck next year!

Message from Aaron: When I first stepped into BNPS as a prep student, I was so nervous I didn’t want to do anything except to stay in bed sleeping all day. Now I have successfully graduated from BNPS and are moving on to high school, the next stepping stone of my life. It has been such an amazing journey the school has provided for me because of all the wonderful staff and all fantastic opportunities. To sadly end off, I would like to tell all the students at BNPS, during your journey things will not always go your way as you will make mistakes, but you must always be resilient and learn from them. A quote from all of us: “Be yourself and don’t be afraid to live life the way you want to.”

Unfortunately, Hannah has been away but we are sure that she has had an equally wonderful time as us. Farewell to BNPS and have a fantastic year next year!!!!!! From Aaron, Hannah, Sophie and Pasandul

Football Star Academy are coming to Balwyn North PS in Term 1!

Football Star Academy will be running after school soccer sessions at Balwyn North Primary School starting term 1 2017. FSA provide young players with the opportunity to develop their soccer skills, knowledge of the game and pave their way to becoming FOOTBALL STARS! The FSA program builds on the child's enthusiasm for the game by making sessions fun while teaching and challenging young players. FSA creates a learning environment which enables young players to develop at their own rate. We begin with the fundamentals in technical ability and work to achieve mastery of the ball.

Please look out for more information and ‘Free Session Vouchers’ that will be handed out during the first week of next term.

My classes involve Musical Theatre for both boys and girls. Our classes are

designed to develop rhythm, concentration and controlled body movements.

The students dance, sing, memorise script and have a lot of fun. There are sig-

nificant carry-over benefits to students by improving memory sequencing, mo-

tor co-ordination and self-esteem. I believe building a positive self- image will

also benefit children in both their school work and socially. Hopefully to carry

over in later years.

Each year students will perform a full musical at The Kew Renaissance

Theatre
