Invitation to Submit Papers
The Fall, 1981 issue of the Learning Disability Quarterly will be a special topical issue focusing on the severely learning disabled. Papers are invited which present theoretical perspectives, issues, and research findings related to the education of persons with severe learning disabilities.
Specific characteristics must be presented in the form of both observational and standardized data, e.g., social and school history, classroom characteristics, specific intelligence and achievement test scores. Priority will be given to manuscripts that recognize the heterogeneity of the learning disabled population and attempt to present information on one or more subgroups of LD, e.g., youngsters with severe language disorders, elementary-age students who, despite best efforts, remain virtually non-readers, or adolescents or adults whose disabilities persist to such a degree that basic life functions are hampered. Re- searchers focusing on N of 1 reports or extensive case studies are encouraged to submit.
Manuscripts are to be submitted by August 1, 1981 to Dr. Mary Poplin, Depart- ment of Special Education, University of Kansas Medical Center, 39th and Rain- bow, Kansas City, Kansas 66103. Articles must follow the guidelines specified on the inside back cover of the Quarterly.
