I decided to change the background to just a plain colour so it makes the cover look better as well as removing any distractions from the main image and feature stories. Also it means that I had to cut my model out of the background therefore it took me about an hour to cut it out properly because if I cut it with the straight lines it would make her head look squared and unrealistic.

I could not decide which colour to use for the border around the posters because as you’ve noticed, the dominant colours of the magazine are purple, white and black. I used white colour on the border on the right hand-side because if I used purple, it wouldn’t stand out and it would be too much of this colour so to attract the audience successfully, I needed to choose a different colour. The reason why I didn’t use black was because it wouldn't stand out either, that’s how I came to a decision to use white.

For the second poster I used black colour because white and blackalways go together so it makes a contrast between those two. As you can see, in the top screenshot you can see that I was making a decision of which colour to use for this one, was thinking of using purple but considering the background is quite off-purple/violet, it wouldn’t stand out in this case either so I thought that black colour would be the best to use.
