Frozen Oceans Primary
Discussion
- How hard did you find the tyre-dragging?
- Why do explorers drag tyres to prepare for the Arctic?
- How would you find dragging 120kg for up to 12 hours a day?

Brief for sleeping bag
- Each member of the team will need to get into and out of the three sleeping bags (one inside the other) wearing mitts or gloves
- If you take the gloves off at any point, they could get frostbite and the team will be disqualified
- The fastest team to complete the sleeping bag relay wins
- Start the relay!

Discussion
- How hard did you feel during the activity?
- What feelings did you experience?- Why might preparing mentally be
helpful?- What might it be like to have to go to
bed at -35°C for 2 months?
Frozen Oceans Primary
Review
- What risks are involved for each activity?
- How does training help to lessen risks?
- How does training help success?- What would happen if something
went wrong in the Arctic?
