The assessment is based on more than 225 pre-graded checkpoints that define the evaluation parameters and
thereby map the facility’s standing on the ‘World Class Manufacturing’ map. With a weightage of 80% given to
operational parameters and 20% to business results, the Global Excellence Model showcases complete synergy
across all processes.
The India Manufacturing Excellence Awards is seen as a pragmatic approach toward identifying opportunities for
improvement within the organization. The assessment team identifies the current standing of the facility on the
software driven model and the resultant charts capture, extent and balance of growth, the alignment of strategic
and implementation achievements and actual comparative metrics within the industry sector.

AWARDS QUALIFICATION CRITERIA
The qualifying bands for awards and recognition are based on pre-set threshold scores. The sites qualifying in
these bands will be awarded with a corresponding certificate of Manufacturing Excellence
Among qualifying companies, the
“Future Ready Factory” awards
shall be given to those sites that
gain the highest score in Platinum
band and a minimum 65 marks in
every parameter of the model.
Sites meeting the above criteria
in each vertical/industry sector
will be awarded.
CONSISTENCY AWARDS
The following criteria shall be followed to felicitate consistency award winners
Consistency Leader: If the facility qualifies for platinum in the seventh year, making it fourth time in seven years
Consistency Challenger: If the facility qualifies for platinum in the fifth year, making it third time in five years
Consistency Aspirer: If a facility qualifies for the platinum award twice in three years
• At the event, Awards will be given only to top management (C-level executives) of the respective companies.
• Number of awards given in each vertical will be at the sole discretion of the IMEA Executive Committee.
PARTICIPATING CATEGORIES
There are four categories of participation based on the sales turnover of the manufacturing site applying for the
awards as depicted below
CORPORATE NOMINATIONS
Corporate Awards will be given to organizations that have multiple manufacturing sites with all showing a uniformand high level of maturity on the assessment model.
To be eligible for the award, 60 percent of the sites (by number and sales revenue) will be assessed. Frost & Sullivan will decide on the sites to be shortlisted for final assessment. Self-Assessment data is to be submittedfor all the manufacturing sites that form a part of the organization. Application Fee and Site Assessment Fee willbe charged for the number of sites that have been identified for final assessment.

PRE-ASSESSMENT AND GROWTH WORKSHOP*
Companies have an option to undergo a Pre-Assessment and on-site Growth Workshop. This program is availableonly ‘on-request’. The objective of the Pre-assessment-Growth Workshop is to provide an integrated platformfor companies to identify opportunities for improvement (OFI) and provide a structured and time bound pathwaytowards implementation of the OFI from the assessment.
THE PRE-ASSESSMENT PROGRAM
The facilities follow a similar on-site assessment and will be graded on the IMEA model. The resultant radar chartof the 12 parameters, depicts the balance and maturity levels of the systems deployed in the facility.
The Global Excellence Model shall be used for pre-assessment to capture the system level maturity across all12 parameters and the identified opportunities for improvement shall be shared.
THE GROWTH WORKSHOP
After the pre-assessment, the team from Frost & Sullivan will also engage the functional representatives at thesite in a Growth Workshop to formulate the way ahead.
