Concrete Pour

When the concrete is placed around the FUKOHose, the external pressure of the concrete seats the neoprene strips, sealing off injection openingsand the injection channel.

Injection

The internal injection pressure compresses the neoprene strips and allows the injection materialto flow out from eight longitudinal gaps. Thisenables a uniform discharge of the injectionmaterial over the full length of the hose.

Cleaning the Hose

When using an approved injection material, theFUKO Hose is easily flushed clean by using waterand applying vacuum pressure. The negative pressure reseats the neoprene strips, preventinginjected material from being drawn back into theinjection channel upon cleaning.

FUKO Fabrication Fabrication of the FUKO Injection Hoserequires the following:◆ Cutting the FUKO Hose to desired length.

◆ FUKO is installed in lengths up to 33feet. This length includes the fiber rein-forced PVC ends. If longer lengths arerequired, please contact Greenstreak/BBZ.

◆ Provide a minimum of 2” concrete coverfor FUKO Hose.

◆ Minimum clearance between two parallelhose sections shall be 2” (see figure 1).

◆ Intersecting hoses are required in mostapplications. The injection portion of thehose must maintain intimate contact with the concrete; vent sections can beoverlapped (see figure 1).

clips or pipe clips every 8-10” on center(see figures 1 and 2). FUKO should notbe installed in a buckled or constricted manner, nor should it be attached to reinforcing bars.

◆ If injection of the FUKO Hose is required,the injection pump is connected to thePVC vent ends. Fiber reinforced PVC ventends should be exposed at the exterior in convenient, accessible locations for futureinjections. Junction boxes, nail packers,or simply continuing fiber reinforced ventends to the outside of the concrete can beutilized (see figure 3).

◆ When using junction boxes, continuefiber reinforced vent ends roughly 4” intothe junction box.

Injection Procedure1. FUKO can be injected after hardening of the concrete. Under normal

conditions, injections can be made after a 28-day minimum curing period.

2. Fill the FUKO Hose with the injection materials using a suitable injectionpump until the material flows out of the opposite PVC vent end. The injection material dictates pump requirements. In vertically positionedhoses, initial injections should be made from the lowest vent end, forcingmaterial upwards.

3. Close the vent end and resume injection. An injection held longer at lowpressure is usually more effective than a high pressure, rapid injection.

4. Once the material no longer flows into the joint and the pressure gaugeshows no or very little loss of pressure, maintain pressure for approximately2 minutes.

5. Be sure injection occurs within the workability or gel time of the injectionmaterial. Be sure to use approved injection materials if re-injection isrequired.

6. Any injection material remaining in the injection channel must be cleanedout prior to hardening or curing of the injection media.

7. To clean the FUKO Hose and fiber reinforced vent ends, apply a vacuum toone end of the vent hose while the other end is held in a container ofwater.

8. The FUKO Hose is prepared for future injections.

Injection MaterialsA suitable injection material must be selected according to the requirements of the joint. BBZ offers a variety of injection materials, includ-ing Multigel 850. Contact BBZ/Greenstreak for recommendations regarding injection materials.

Multigel 850 is a solvent-free acrylate resin, which swells up to 75% on contact with water. Multigel 850 is a low viscosity resin, whichpenetrates microfine cracks and capillaries to seal them permanently. It is resistant to acids, lyes and many solvents and fuels. Equipmentand tools contaminated with Multigel 850 can be easily cleaned with water.

DUROJECT for Single Injections Duroject is an economical injection hose for planned sealing of construction joints.Duroject enables a controlled injection of the construction joint and thus reliablewaterproofing. It is designed to deliver resin and microfine cements in a singleinjection. It is not for applications that may require subsequent injections.
