Welcome to the Fulbright U.S. Student Program applica�on. The program provides grants for individually designed study/research projects or for English TeachingAssistant Programs. A candidate will submit a Statement of Grant Purpose defining ac�vi�es to take place during one academic year in a par�cipa�ng country outsidethe U.S.
Applicants may only apply for one award per applica�on cycle. You cannot apply for mul�ple awards in the same program year (2020-2021).
The Fulbright U.S. Student Na�onal Deadline is October 8, 2019 at 5 pm Eastern Time.
The U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educa�onal and Cultural Affairs (ECA) administers the Program under policy guidelines established by the J. Instruc�ons
Overview
It is very important that you follow the general guidelines for applica�on comple�on and submission, as well as the guidelines for the specific type of award, program,and/or country available on the applica�on website.
It is the applicant's responsibility to understand what is required for their Award Type and to submit the appropriate documents by their stated campus or the Fulbrightna�onal applica�on deadline․ Failure to provide necessary informa�on or materials may adversely affect your applica�on․
Your applica�on is a representa�on of you, so be sure that it is complete and accurate. All essays and supplementary material must be your own work․ It isunacceptable to misrepresent one's accomplishments, to borrow from the works of others without proper acknowledgment, or to submit as one's own material whathas been wri�en, re-wri�en or heavily edited by others․ Breaches of these protocols may result in rejec�on of the applica�on․
The Fulbright U․S․Student Program requires that applicants submit the applica�on online․ Applica�ons and suppor�ng creden�als (recommenda�ons, transcripts,etc․) MUST BE electronically submi�ed by5:00 pm Eastern Time on October 8, 2019. If you are applying through a U.S. Ins�tu�on (not At-Large), you must also abideby your campus deadline.
We strongly recommend that you do not wait un�l the deadline day to submit the applica�on. Applica�ons that are not fully submi�ed by the stated na�onaldeadline will not be accepted․ Technical difficul�es in uploading documents or in the final submission steps, par�cularly in the hours prior to the deadline, will not begrounds for an extension․ Applica�ons not fully submi�ed by the deadline will not be considered for the current applica�on cycle․ NO EXCEPTIONS․
The applica�on consists of the sec�ons and components listed to the le� of these instruc�ons, based on the Award Type that you selected in the PreliminaryQues�ons Sec�on․ Please note that if you change the response to Preliminary Ques�on: Award Type, some applica�on components will change and any documentsthat you uploaded will be removed.
Online Recommenda�on/Evalua�on System Applicants must register three recommenders and may register up to two foreign language evaluators using the online recommenda�on system․ You must discuss thismethod with your chosen recommenders or evaluators to make sure that they agree to comply․
Un�l the na�onal applica�on deadline, recommenders and language evaluators will be able to submit their recommenda�on/evalua�on, even if the applicant hasalready electronically submi�ed their applica�on. Applicants can follow the progress of their reference submissions in the Recommenda�ons/Evalua�ons sec�on․
Transcripts Transcripts from degree gran�ng ins�tu�ons (undergraduate and graduate), plus transcripts of other relevant transfer credits, are required․ Applicants must obtaincopies of transcripts to scan and upload in the Transcripts sec�on in the le� menu bar․
Comple�ng the Online Applica�on
Please note the following features of the Online Applica�on:
1. The applica�on has been programmed for typeface and font size․ You cannot alter these formats․
2. You do not need to complete the applica�on in one si�ng․ The system will allow you to enter, re-enter and revise all sec�ons of your applica�on before it issubmi�ed․
3. There are several required fields․ The Review will prompt you to make sure that you have completed all the required fields․ You will be unable to submit yourapplication until all required �ields are complete.
4. In several instances the required fields have drop-down op�ons․ You MUST select op�ons from these lists (e.g. country of applica�on, field of study, etc.)․ Youcannot enter op�onal informa�on inthese fields.
5. The HTML format will not mirror a hard copy version of the applica�on, which is in PDF format.
6. When you are completely sa�sfied with your applica�on and have uploaded required documents and transcripts, you can submit your applica�on․ Followinstruc�ons provided to full submission․ You will receive a submission confirma�on email if your submission was successful․ Once your applica�on is submi�edyou will be unable to access, make changes to, or upload addi�onal material to your applica�on.

The transcript that you scan and upload must be a document that was produced by the registrar, but need not be an ‘official transcript․’ Make sure that the documentyou submit clearly lists the following: 1) Your Name, 2) Ins�tu�on Name, and 3) appears as an academic record chronologically ordered with course dates, �tles,credits and grades․ This document should also list course in progress during the current semester where relevant ․ If you are recommended for a grant, you will berequired to submit OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS for which the content must match the document you submit here․
