The last few months have been an unusual experience for people all across the globe, including our coaches at One Goal. While we have been continuing to support a number of our schools in providing care and activities for key worker/vulnerable children, we have also had more time than usual to plan and reflect. This comes at a time when we would usually be involved in helping many of our schools to plan and deliver annual sports day activities. We felt that it was a great shame that this may not be possible this year and decided to try to solve the problem. Our team decided to pool together our collective experience in order to plan a set of high quality activities that would help children to access a fantastic sports day experience both in school and at home!

Our One Goal Sports Day has been designed in order to provide children who are not yet returning to school with the opportunity to participate in the school events remotely. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced schools to remain closed for over two months, creating difficult circumstances for children, families and staff alike. This situation has been particularly challenging for young people who have been unable to access the great sporting and social experiences that they usually have available. At One Goal, we are committed to supporting schools, children and families to deal with this situation in any way that we possibly can.

Unfortunately, many children that are not yet returning to school will have to go a little bit longer without access to friends and external activities. As a result of this, we feel that children need positive and exciting experiences now more than ever. Therefore, to compliment our in-school sports day, we have come up with a second plan so that children that are at home can take part too! The rest of this document is made up of plans for six sports day activities that your child (and the rest of the family!) can enjoy at home.

We hope that this helps and that your family enjoys your One Goal Sports Day experience!
