• The goal of the challenges is to get your robot to follow the lines demonstrated with the correct colors on the line.
Instructions:
Extension: This game is very similar to coding with a robot! After you complete the challenges, try creating your own codes using paper and pens. Where would the robot go? What type of patterns would it go?
Question for the kids: If you could program a robot to do anything, what would it do? What tasks would your robot be able to complete?

Bot-Less Robot Coding
Materials Needed:• Computer

Build a Bridge Challenge
Materials Needed: • 2 chairs
• Lego building blocks
Duration: 20-40+ minutes Participants: 1+
Question for the kids: What challenges did you face when trying to make your bridge? What other materials could you use to build the bridge?
Instructions:
• Place the chairs 1 foot apart.
• Use the Lego bricks to build a bridge to get across the “river” to your friend’s house.
• Check your bridge for strength by placing different objects on your bridge.
• Challenge your siblings or parents to see who can build the strongest bridge.
• After you master a short bridge, try moving your chairs apart to make a bigger bridge.
It has been a long few weeks staying at home and you are finally able to visit your friend across the river. Let’s pretend the only
problem is that the bridge washed out in the last storm.

Materials Needed:• Blank Paper
• Markers/Pen
Question for the kids: Describe what makes you happy and why. What are some of your favorite moments from the past year? Who did you share those moments with?
Instructions:
• Draw a heart on a blank piece of paper and divide the heart into multiple sections.
• Create a color key at the bottom of the paper labeling the following: (see photo for example)
» Things I do in my free time
» People I care about
» PlacesI have lived/visited
» Favorite moments
• In each section, write/draw something relates to the color key. These should be things that make you happy.
• Finally, ask everyone to share what they chose and why.
Tip: For older youth,
challenge them to make a creative story related to 1+ of the
sections.

Food Hero Peanut Butter
Cereal BarsIngredients:
• Bananas
• ½ cup honey
• 1 cup peanut butter
• 2 cups rice cereal
• 2 cups quick oats
• 1 cup raisins, or other dried fruit
Instructions:
1. In a saucepan, bring honey to a boil.
2. Reduce heat to low and stir in peanut butter
3. Add dry cereal, oats and raisins; mix well. Remove from heat
4. Lightly spray or oil an 8-inch square baking pan with cooking spray. Press into prepared 8-in pan with spatula. When cool, cut into 16 bars.
5. Store in airtight container for up to a week.
Note: Honey is not recommended for children under 1 year old. To avoid peanuts or peanut butter, try sunflower seeds or sunflower seed butter.
Question for the kids: What ingredients could you add or replace with other foods you have on hand?

Food Hero Barras de
Crema de Maní y Cereal
Ingredients:• 2 tazas de cereal de
arroz tostado
• 1 taza de crema de maní
• 1⁄2 taza de miel
• 2 tazas de avena instantánea sin cocinar
• 1 taza de pasas u otra fruta seca
Instructions:
1. En una cacerola caliente la miel hasta que hierva.
2. Reduzca el calor y cocine a fuego lento y revuelva añadiendo la crema de cacahuate.
3. Añada el cereal seco, la avena y las pasas; mezcle bien. Quite del calor.
4. Unte un molde para hornear de 8 pulgadas ligeramente con aceite líquido o en aerosol. Presione la mezcla dentro de un molde para hornear de 8x8 pulgadas. Cuando se enfría, corte en forma de 16 barras.
5.Guarde en un recipiente hermético hasta por una semana.
Notas: La miel no es segura para niños menores de 1 año.Para no usar manís, pruebe semillas de girasol o crema de semillas de girasol.
