Expert InstructorsWalt Bleser, PE, is the Director of Railway Asset Management for GREX (Georgetown Railway Equipment). Previously, he worked 11 years for HNTB and was involved in a wide variety of fixed and movable bridge design projects as well as several inspection rating projects for Class I, Commuter, and Shortline Railroads. Bleser is an officer in AREMA, as the Secretary of Technical Committee 7 on Timber Design of Railroad Structures, as well as a member of AREMA Technical Committee 10 on Structures, Maintenance, and Construction.
Chris Brown, PE, Associate Vice President for HNTB Corporation, is a Railroad Bridge and Movable Bridge Project Manager for HNTB’s Kansas City office, where he is involved in a wide variety of railroad and movable bridge design projects. Brown is active in several technical and professional organizations, including AREMA, where he is a member of Technical Committee 15 on Steel Design of Railway Structures. Brown serves as HNTB’s National Director of Movable Bridges and is also a member of the firm’s Rail and Public Transit Service Group Committee as the Central Division Representative.
