What was Most Beneficial?

• The framework with connecting leadership development to systems and population change was helpful, actively coming out of individual metrics to consider the "why" of what we do

• Appreciating more the emphasis of numerous funders on population-level results demand and the challenges of LD measurement in service there of. Hearing from what I consider leadership foundations in this space, got ideas of evaluators who might assist us

• Being in a room outside my sector and to hear how leadership development is being conceived, defined and evaluated

• Bringing together funders and evaluators to share and learn together in a fun and inviting environment

• Format of "shows" followed by table discussion, followed by full share - to - action; the "wall" connecting specific change categories of visibly seeing what and where are evaluating

• The size of the group was just right for making connections and getting to know people. The facilitation was excellent. It was clear that the meeting planners had a high intention of making the meeting useful to all and very applicable to our respective work agendas.

• Time to connect and talk with peers in evaluation, the conversation across funders and evaluators is very important

• Connecting with comrades working on similar things; identifying the key themes people are struggling with; hearing approaches people are taking

Areas of Improvement

• Preparation and Materials

– Distribute attendee list ahead of time; more materials ahead of time to ground everyone beforehand; have info on opening panels before small group session. I just felt overall I wanted more grounding before interacting and sharing

• More Time

– More time to be in conversation, felt like not enough time to share in small groups

• Participants

– Bring in panel of people from a couple of our leadership programs to get their insights

• Content

– I found myself and others going back to these areas with which we are most comfortable/familiar/knowledgeable. Next time I wonder if we could remind ourselves that we are doing more than just sharing current best practices we are doing something fundamentally new = LARGE SCALE SYSTEMS CHANGE

– More examples of leadership programs making demonstrated impacts; how to "fix" a broken program
