2020 WORLD MIGRATORY BIRD DAY SMALL GRANT FUNDING AGREEMENT

THIS AGREEMENT is made on 29 September 2020 among, The East Asian-Australasian Flyway Partnership Secretariat, (hereinafter referred to as ‘EAAFP Secretariat’) and HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas).

WHEREAS:

The EAAFP Secretariat and HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas) intend to cooperate together for the benefit of the conservation of migratory waterbirds and their habitats, and in furtherance of such co-operation the EAAFP Secretariat wishes to contribute towards the cost of a project to promote the World Migratory Bird Day (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Project’) to be undertaken by HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas).

IT IS AGREED as follows:

1. THE PROJECT1.1 The EAAFP Secretariat and HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas) co-

operate together for the benefit of the conservation of migratory waterbirds and their habitats, it being mutually agreed that the execution of the Project by HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas) will make an important contribution to this end.

1.2 The parties agree that to the best of their knowledge and belief the Project to be funded under this agreement is for the achievement of outputs that fall within EAAFP’s Objectives.

1.3 Attached to and forming an integral part of this agreement are:

Annex A containing the agreed Project Description, Annex B containing the agreed Project Budget, and Annex C containing the agreed Project Payment and Reporting Schedule, which HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas) hereby declares it has

noted and accepted. HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas) undertake to adhere to

Annexes A, B and C in the execution of the Project and to use the EAAFP Secretariat’s financial contribution solely for the purposes of the Project. Any amount not specifically used for the purpose stipulated may be recovered by the EAAFP Secretariat.

1.4 The parties agree that Annexes A, B and C to this agreement can be modified when necessary through the exchange of Contract amendment letters signed on behalf of three parties.

Registry: EAAFP/2020/1211.5 By accepting this finance from the EAAFP Secretariat, HIMPUS (Himpunan

Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas) agrees to complete all the work described in Annex A that is scheduled for the duration of this agreement.

1.6 HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas) agree to translate the necessary materials for World Migratory Bird Day in their language and feedback to EAAFP Secretariat, and agree that logoes of WMBD and EAAFP have to be included in all printed materials under the Project. And the event has to be registered on the WMBD website: https://www.worldmigratorybirdday.org/register-your-event.

2. FUNDING2.1 The EAAFP Secretariat agrees to provide funding to HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa

Pecinta Unggas) for the Project on the terms and conditions contained in this agreement.

2.2 Where the work detailed in Annex A is sub-contracted to or done concurrently with additional work supported by additional organisations, HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas) holds the responsibility of notifying all parties and ensuring that there are no conflicts arising between agreed activities. HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas) is also responsible for ensuring that those sub-contracted to carry out any part of this work agree to and observe in full the various conditions detailed in this document and Annexes.

3. PAYMENTS 3.1 The EAAFP Secretariat will pay HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas) a

lump sum for the production of the contract services and deliverables, in accordance with the Budget and Payment Schedule set out in Annex B and C. HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas) will invoice the EAAFP Secretariat as set out in Annex C and the EAAFP Secretariat agrees to pay such invoices within 30 days, subject to approval of invoices.

3.2 If there are any Project funds provided by the EAAFP Secretariat which have not been spent on or committed to HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas) , the subsequent payment will be adjusted accordingly.

3.3 On expiry or prior termination of this agreement, any Project funds provided by the EAAFP Secretariat which have not been spent on or committed to the Project by HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas) and will be repaid to the EAAFP Secretariat by HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas) .

3.4 Payments to be made by the EAAFP Secretariat may be withheld if in the EAAFP Secretariat’s view satisfactory progress has not been made or technical or financial reports (or Partner Indicators, if applicable) of either the present or any previous funding agreement between the parties has not been received by the due date.

3.5 All sums payable under this Agreement by the EAAFP Secretariat, unless otherwise stated, are deemed to be inclusive of any duties or taxes payable.

Registry: EAAFP/2020/1214. REPORTING4.1 HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas) will provide Reports to the EAAFP

Secretariat according to the specifications and schedule as shown in Annex C.

5. FINANCIAL RECORDS AND CONTROL5.1 HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas) will use all reasonable endeavours

to carry out the Project in the most economical manner and in particular will source goods and services required for the Project in the most cost-effective manner.

6. DISSEMINATION OF PROJECT RESULTS6.1 The parties agree that as the Project is to be undertaken for the benefit of bird

conservation, the results of the Project, including the materials generated from the Project shall be made freely available to anyone with a legitimate interest in using the results for the furtherance of conservation on non-commercial purposes.

7. COMMENCEMENT, DURATION AND TERMINATION7.1 This agreement will come into effect on the date written at the heading of this

agreement and, unless terminated by one of the parties under the provisions of Clause 7.2 below, will expire 6 months after the final payment has been made by the EAAFP Secretariat to HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas) .

7.2 Either party may at any time and for any reason give not less than 3 months’ written notice to the other that it wishes to terminate this agreement, at the end of which notice period this agreement will duly terminate.

8. INDEMNITIES8.1 HIMPUS (Himpunan Mahasiwa Pecinta Unggas) shall be responsible for dealing with

any taxes due relating to their costs incurred whilst undertaking the project covered by this agreement.

Introduce us from HIMPUS (Poultry Lovers Student Association) which is a student activity unit from the veterinary faculty of Kuala Shia University, Banda Aceh. HIMPUS has been celebrating World Migratory Bird Day in Indonesia since 2016 with community awareness activities to protect migratory birds and their habitats.

This year HIMPUS will again celebrate World Migratory Bird Day 2020 with the theme "Birds Connect Our World". Even though during the current COVID-19 pandemic the enthusiasm of HIMPUS isn’t lost to continue to educate the public in guarding migratory bird species and their habitats in Indonesia. however this year this activity avoids direct contact and crowds of people in an effort to tackle COVID-19. Therefore we took the initiative to hold online activities with the same goal. Celebration of World Migratory Bird Day 2020 in Indonesia will carry out activities such as:

1. World Migratory Bird Day Painting CompetitionThis competition will be filled with 3 age categories, namely: category A for children

aged 5-12 years, Category B for children aged 13-16 years and Category C for teenagers 17-20 years. This painting competition is conducted online by sending their work to the committee for an assessment of each category. The winners from each category will get a marchendise prize and an award certificate which will be sent to the address of each winner.

2. World Migratory Bird Day 2020 Webinar with the theme "Birds Connect Our World"This webinar is in welcoming the celebration of World Migratory Bird Day 2020 in

October. The material will also be presented by speakers who are experienced in the world of bird migration in Indonesia and also involving national parties associated with migratory bird species. WMBD 2020 webinar topic of discussion is the introduction of endemic species of migratory birds in every region of Indonesia, the threat of migratory birds in the wild, and share the source during the observation.

This short video will be shared on Facebook, YouTube and other social media. This short video is a form of distance socialization and education for people who were unable to join in some of the previous activities.

Expected Outcomes:1. Educate the public to protect migratory bird species and habitats in Indonesia.2. Cultivate a sense of awareness and foster a love of the environment from an early

age.3. Will trigger more activiies for nature preservation especially to preserve the life of

birds.4. Establishing connectivity among birdwatchers and environment.

The participants gained knowledge and experience of migratory bird conservation..

In celebration of World Migratory Bird Day 2020 in October Himpus celebrate with some programs that are carried out on 1 to 18 October 2020 with a string of events such as:

1. Drawing Competition World Migratory Bird Day 2020This competition is aimed at children aged 5-20 years with the subject of painting migratory bird species. Interest is expected to foster a sense of love of the environment from an early stage and recognize bird species migration.

This competition was held through online media on October 1 - 18, 2020 by registering through the online form that we provide in the publication in the form of a flyer. The flayer was published en masse by the committee through social media. The competition was divided into 3 age categories, namely category A: 5-10 years, category B: 11-15 years and category C: 16-20 years.

This competition produced as many as 100 children from all over Indonesia and the winners with the best paintings received prizes in the form of t-shirts and award certificates from HIMPUS.The winner with the best painting, namely:CATEGORY A1st Winner: Galih Sinathrya Dewansyah2nd Winner: Naila Muaza Ulfa3rd Winner: Khalila Rasty Budira

The purpose of making this videon is to introduce and educate people who have not had the opportunity to participate in the activities we hold so that people also get the education delivered. HIMPUS celebrate World Migratory Bird Day 2020 in October to take advantage of online media as a means of education. The World Migratory Bird Day 2020 celebration was held with several series of events starting from 1 - 18 October 2020. This World Migratory Bird Day 2020 celebration is different from previous years because the situation in Indonesia is currently a COVID-19 pandemic so that activities that are in contact straight away hard to do. However, the enthusiasm of HIMPUS does not diminish to educate the Indonesian people to protect migratory bird species and their habitats.Activities carried out online are a solution for HIMPUS to continue to educate the public. This activity also invites the public, from children to adults, from the general public, students, bird watchers to government.These activities are; painting competitions, webinars, and community outreach using videos uploaded via HIMPUS social media and the committee. We will discuss the details of these activities as follows.

Registry: EAAFP/2020/121The first activity is organized painting competition for children Indonesia with the aim to introduce species of migratory birds early and also as a means of entertainment when the current pandemic. This competition will be held from 1 -18 October 2020 which is carried out online, namely by registering on the online form provided by the committee and given time to submit the results of the painting

until 18 October 2020 via email HIMPUS.

After participants register and send their paintings. Then the committee evaluates and gives the best results from each category of the competition. The best works, of course, HIMPUS give prizes in the form of t-shirts and award certificates. We can see the names of the best works, namely:

The next activity is the World Migratory Bird Day 2020 Webinar series 2 with the theme "Bird Connect Our World" which was held on October 18, 2020 at 14.00 - 16.00 WIB in collaboration Burung Sumatera and Aceh Birder. This webinar was previously held at the World Migratory Bird Day 2020 celebration in May with different sources and different themes.

The purpose of carrying out this webinar is to provide an educational tool that can be accessed by all Indonesians and also to share records of the discovery of migratory birds in Indonesia to make people aware of how to protect migratory bird habitats so that they have a place to stay. It is delivered by expert speakers in the world that migratory birds are:

1. Hasri Abdillah from Burung Sumatera, who shared material and experiences about the findings of migratory bird species in North Sumatra and also provided basic insights on world bird migration. Hasri Abdillah is a professional bird observer from North Sumatra, Indonesia. He shared the images on migratory bird habitats that had been found during his observations. He also described his experience in bird conservation in North Sumatra with the aim of fostering a sense of public awareness in this regard.

2. Agus Nurza from Aceh Birder is a professional bird observer from Aceh as well as chairman of the Aceh Birder. He distributes materials related to migratory birds in the Gayo highlands, Indonesia. He shared records of migratory bird species he found in the highlands. The participants were very enthusiastic about this because there were still many who did not know that the highlands were also a habitat for migratory birds.

This webinar has a total of 377 participants from the general public, students, bird watchers to the government. Participants were fortunate in asking questions is also provided door prizes of clothes and all the participants are given the E-certificate. The last activity that is HIMPUS 'effort to educate the public is by sharing videos about world migratory birds with the hope that people who didn’t participate in the previous event held by HIMPUS. All activities carried out by HIMPUS are to educate the Indonesian people regarding the protection of migratory birds and their habitats. Because conservation without sufficient education to the community is nothing. After sufficient education, the community can indirectly understand what is the use of protecting nature.

We believe that the Indonesian people who participate or who see the online activities we organize and share can become community pioneers in protecting migratory birds and their habitats.1. Fostering a sense of love for the environment, with the hope that they will become volcano in their respective areas by indirectly inviting their environment to maintain bird species and their habitats.3.
