Latest Coronavirus-Related Funding The updates below offer a selection of the latest funding related news for organisations either impacted by, or supporting, the Coronavirus pandemic. For more information on Coronavirus specific funding why not check out the brilliant blog page being regularly updated by our partners at Action Hampshire Julia and Hans Rausing Trust Charity Survival Fund The one-off £10 million Charity Survival Fund has been set up by the Julia and Hans Rausing Trust in response to their ongoing concern about the economic impact of coronavirus/COVID-19 on the nation’s charities. Deadline 5pm on 27th July 2020. Barrow Cadbury Trust Social & Community Capital has launched a Coronavirus Response Fund to provide some support for social enterprises, charities and other not-for-profit organisations across the UK that employ people from vulnerable or disadvantaged groups. Grants can be used to fund usual business activities or help to adapt their delivery model to coronavirus constraints. The applications deadline is midday on Monday 29 June 2020. Comic Relief COVID-19 Community Fund Grants for organisations to provide emergency relief in their communities during the coronavirus/COVID- 19 crisis and to recover from the impact that the crisis has had on their services.

Open Funds by Category

Arts Council - After being closed due to the COVID-19 crisis, the Arts Council National Lottery Project Grants scheme has been reopened with, they say, some improvements to better meet the needs of smaller independent groups and individuals. These support individual artists, community and cultural organizations including museums and libraries, with grants of between £1,000 and £100,000. The Arts Council will publish updated guidance for the programme by mid-July.

Foyle Foundation - Grants are available to registered charities in the UK to support the performing or visual arts and for projects that facilitate the acquisition of knowledge and learning. Their criteria has been updated.

Baring Foundation - Grants are available for established organisations in the UK that focus solely on offering creative opportunities to people of any age living with mental health problems, using the skills of professionally trained artists.

HEALTH & SOCIAL WELFARE

CRASH – CRASH is a charity that primarily assists homelessness charities and hospices with their construction projects by sourcing on their behalf pro-bono or discounted professional expertise and materials from their Patron Companies and others within the construction industry. CRASH can also award cash grants which are made possible by the generosity of the construction and property industry.

GSK IMPACT Awards 2021 - The Awards recognize and reward small to medium-sized charities in the UK that are doing excellent work to improve people's health. Charities must have an annual income of between £80,000 and £2.5 million. Applicants must target community health needs in the UK and have a track record of achievement in this area. The Awards recognize excellence in existing work and do not seek to fund new projects.

People's Health Trust - Active Communities Funding Programme - Funding for local communities in England, Scotland and Wales to help create a society without health inequalities. Round 8 of the Energy Redress Scheme has launched and contains £13 million in funding to help support vulnerable energy consumers and reduce fuel poverty. The deadline for applications to Round 8 is 5pm on Thursday 30 July 2020. Community Justice Fund Grants are available for specialist social welfare legal advice organisations to cope with the immediate impact of the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic and lay the foundations for longer-term renewal. MSD Grants Grants are available for UK based health charities to help them recover from the negative effects of the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic and to support patients and their families who are vulnerable to infection.

ENVIRONMENT

British Ecological Society - Outreach Grants - Grants are available to organisations to support projects that promote ecological science to a wide audience.

Ashley Family Foundation - Grants are provided to support community museums, farms, gardens, schools and other charitable organisations in England and Wales with small-scale arts and community projects.

CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE

Happy Days Charity – Grants are available to fund trips, experiences, respite breaks and group activity holidays for young people between 3 and 17 years old with additional needs.

The7stars Foundation – The grant funding is intended to support young people challenged by abuse and addiction, those who are young carers, and those who find themselves without a safe home. There are three funding streams: Projects; Long Term Funding; Direct Funding of individuals.

Inspiring Futures – Grants are available for not-for-profit organisations in the UK to improve the employment prospects of children and young people who face discrimination or disadvantage.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Screwfix Foundation - Grants of up to £5,000 are available for projects that relate to the repair, maintenance, improvement or construction of homes, community buildings and other buildings in deprived areas or for those in need.

NFU Mutual Community Giving Fund – Grants are available for community events, charities, schools, and community group activities that are local to NFU Mutual’s business operations across the UK.

DWF Charitable Foundation – One-off grants are available to registered charities in the UK for projects that address issues of homelessness, employability, education, health and well being

SPORTS & LEISURE

Andy Fanshawe Memorial Trust – The Trust offers funding to support disadvantaged young people to further develop an existing interest in adventurous outdoor activities such as walking, climbing, cycling, kayaking, sailing, horse riding in the UK. The Trust usually supports individuals or small groups..

Sport for Good Response Fund – Grants are available for non-profit organisations that are using sport to deliver development outcomes, to ensure they can continue to work with young people across the world during the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic and deliver new or adaptive provisions.

Magic Little Grants – Grants of £500 for charities and community groups delivering sports and physical activities.

Diversify your fundraising plan… When developing a fundraising plan for your organisation don’t put all your eggs in one basket - make sure that you consider a range of fundraising methods and sources. This will provide a less risky approach to fundraising and make it more likely to ensure that your finances and your fundraising is sustainable and less open to shock.
