University Awards
• Very successful and prestigious scheme
• Applicants cannot be in an established academic post
• The university guarantees a permanent post at the end of the award
• Up to 5 years support, providing full salary for three years, 50% in the fourth year and 25% in the fifth year

Fellowship Awards
• Includes an interview stage• We expect candidates to have
completed their PhD at the point of application
• Try to have published something from your PhD
• Up to 3 years support

• Enables clinicians, scientists, or nurses to undertake full-time research at a centre or department with academic expertise in medical humanities, biomedical ethics, or the health-related social sciences
• Provides the salary of a locum or replacement lecturer for the duration of the award

PhD Studentships
Funding Opportunities in Medical Humanities
• Provides a stipend and research expenses
• For the full 3 years – must apply before you begin your studies
Master’s Studentships
• Supports Master’s courses in HoM or MedHum at any university with a HoM or MedHum Master’s programme
• Expected excellent upper 2:1 undergraduate degree
• Pays for fees and stipend

• £5,000 to facilitate medical humanities research• Can fund small-scale projects such as scoping exercises, workshops,
conferences, symposia, lectures series, etc.• Can pay for research expenses for a larger research project• Does not necessarily have to be historically grounded• Should have a distinct output
