Fundraising & Awareness Because Caring Counts by Colgate Palmolive (SOFTLAN) Background:- In 2009, Colgate Palmolive- Softlan initiated a campaign to encourage early detection among Malaysian women. Objective:- •  To educate Malaysian women on the importance of early screening and to instil a better understanding

of breast cancer and its rate of cure through early detection. •  To provide free-mammograms to underprivileged women, funded by the Colgate Palmolive (SOFTLAN)

fundraising initiatives.

Fundraising & Awareness Because Caring Counts

Method:- •  Education booths are set up at shopping malls, which provided free clinical breast examination (CBE)

and wide information on breast cancer. Besides that, the public were encourage to pledge towards the campaign.

Conclusion:- •  The ladies responded well to the free CBE’s, as well as the information about breast cancer

awareness , the importance of screening and early detection. •  The campaign also manage to raise RM33,333 which was used to provide free mammograms to

underprivileged ladies among the local communities.
