FUNDRAISING
Introduction from Cath Errington,
Fundraising Manager
Hello to all of you - it’s lovely to be here! I’ve been
out and about chatting to our customers and
workers to find out what equipment and projects
are needed here at Heart of England Mencap. I’ve
also been working on lots of applications,
planning for events and developing a Fundraising
Strategy for the organisation.
Your consistent help and support is vital to our
success here at Mencap, so we wanted to thank
you and ask for a little more. We’ve got a lot of
exciting plans in the pipeline – please get involved,
or think up your own challenge! Whether you sign
up to our Mud Run team, give us a few hours of your time at a bucket collection,
bake cakes for an event or even just follow us on Twitter, anything you do is
greatly appreciated. All money raised will go towards extra activities and
equipment to help people with learning disabilities achieve their own personal
goals. There’s a whole list of equipment, training courses, activities and outings
that they would like funding for!
Russell is one of the Mencap Pathway
customers we support. He comes four days a
week, and loves the welcoming and friendly
atmosphere. He enjoys karaoke, chilling out
with his friends, cooking club, discussing 80’s
bands with his friend Malcolm and dancing at
the discos. He has previously worked at a
company, when he helped to package
magazines ready to be posted. He enjoys
helping Mencap by making things in the
Pathway Arts and Crafts sessions which can
then be sold at the Mencap market stall.
