Our engine of growth is network effects fueled by game dynamics. New customers will come

from the actions of past customers.

Bottom line: if our theory is correct, we will be able to grow much faster than other consumer

facing enterprise companies.

1st User Upgrade

1st Company Upgrade

Users earn credits for completing the product tutorial, their profiles and adding co-workers.

Users earn milestone badges for completing milestones and they are added to their profiles.

Users earn credits for productivity and can spend these credits on upgrades within the game.

Users earn a rating (out of five stars) over time for their productivity encouraging them to remain engaged.

This may not seem important, but having popular updates move to the top of the stream keeps people engaged in a way email does not.

After 10 users are added, the company unlocks an upgrade (5 projects). We want them to understand that using the product will earn them rewards.

At scale, users will also be able to recruit other service providers. Their standing on Fusion will help market their services.

When a user earns X number of credits, they unlock a first upgrade. We want the user to understand that credits have real value.

At scale, Fusion will become a marketplace for extra tools. Users will spend credits or real money on tools they want.

Have we built out all these game dynamics?

NO Fusion is a 24/7/365 experiment in putting game dynamics into business collaboration and finding product/market fit.

Game dynamics have a powerful psychological effect on the users. It’s a

feeling. It’s an experience.

How about an example?

Imagine you are part of a small team using Fusion to collaborate. You haven’t checked-in for a while and haven’t contributed much in the way of productivity, discussion or milestones.

Your coworkers updates are getting pushed up in the stream and yours aren’t.

How does this make you feel?

Now imagine you have been crushing it. Hitting all your milestones, checking into Fusion on your phone, getting tons of great feedback

and generally kicking ass.

Now, how do you feel?

The competitive dynamic is subtle but has a powerful emotional effect on the user.

When you combine this with all the other gaming and social dynamics of the product, you end up with an effect greater than the sum of the parts.

Engagement and productivity are both required and rewarded.

The game of business is real whether acknowledged or not. We are just building the

interface to make it visible to the masses.

Our core competency is not just building features, but building the most compelling collaboration experience possible. We believe leveraging game

dynamics is the single best way to make the experience compelling long-term.

Let’s briefly consider the end game for Fusion. We know that one of three things will happen.

OUR END GAME

A)   Failure is a possibility but…

  We’ll stay lean and pivot fast to hedge against this.

  We’ve raised $0 in the last 3 years and pivoted from a web design service business to software product business. Being lean and pivoting is in our DNA.

  We’re on the verge of running out of our own money right now. We get our shit done because we don’t have an alternative.

Outcome: Mehhhh

OUR END GAME

B)  We succeed in hitting scale.

  A larger company gets scared and buys us.

  Could Salesforce or Yammer get into the enterprise gaming business? Sure. But they won’t because they won’t risk their existing business to pivot into something that hasn’t been proven to work at scale.

  It will take a start-up like Fusion to push the idea forward.

Outcome: You get all your money back and then some.

OUR END GAME

C)   We hit hyper-scale and build a sustainable business.

  This should be every company’s goal.

  Building long-term sustainable value, not playing the acquisition casino game.

  If everyone gets acquired for $20M bucks then who is going to kick Apple and Google and Facebook’s asses in the next 10 years?

Outcome: You buy Larry Ellison’s yacht.
