English Department Overview
In high-school English Language Arts, students read works of literature and informational texts with a critical eye. Students will read classic and contemporary works from various eras, cultures, and world views.
The Thousand Oaks English Department prepares learners for the 21st century by developing the needed skills to make successful advancements in an ever-challenging and changing world.
With 16 highly-trained and diverse members of the English faculty, your student will obtain a valuable, hands-on, first-rate education in the discipline of English.

ELA Skills Preparation
Using Common Core State Standards, we prepare our students for the 21st century by focusing on the following skills:
